Anyone know?

I can't see the excess capacity of 85 new E-series a/c for MidAtlantic not hurting one or the other. If it's mainline and they start pulling 733's off the line, then will those pilots be offered MAA ahead of furloughed? What's to keep Siegel from ordering another 100 E-series a/c for MAA, and continuing to replace mainline.

It's possible that the agreement is for the E-series to replace the Express a/c with Mesa, but I have my doubts.

My guess is mainline gets smaller once again. It sure looks like they screwed themselves over with the pay- couldn't they at least have gotten mainline seniority into the payscale? I just hope MA will be enough to keep the company alive.

Doesn't mainline have a certian number or minimum Jets required? 265 or 285 rings a bell

I think the key phrase is MAA is not a subsidiary of UAIR, but a division. Therefore, that wording may allow the 170's to be classified as mainline. If not, UAIR is going to have tons of excess capacity to deal with.

You can't bring all the excess capacity of 85 E170's and 85 CRJ700' without retiring some a/c. I know that UAIR has asked GECAS to see if they can lease some of the CRJ700's somewhere else since they are not part of MAA. Will UAIR just take the money earmarked for those 85 a/c and use it to buy more E170's? Maybe someone at UAIR has an idea.
