...And, DL may become the largest airline in the World again if they somehow merge with a certain West Coast airline with Hillary Clinton on the tail.

HAHAHAHA! You're right! It DOES look like Hillary Clinton! I'll never look at that logo the same way again.

You're right. Get rid of Freedom and Comair. Simple as that. Maybe Compass and Mesaba should take over, since they have a flow up.... All y'all have a good one, ya hear?

Bye Bye---General Lee

Guys, please don't feed the troll...

Just be big and let his comments wither on the vine.

Thank you.

Comair might get some of it from what I am hearing, but no additional aircrafts. Just utilize the ones we have more.

Did you hear it from the Oracle? He or she must have supernatural powers to actually know Deltas intention only a day after a ruling has been made. Please let me know who it is because I have a few questions to afsk.

F8 operates about 22 aircraft for Delta, around 150 pilots. Mesa just announced an additional 200 furloughs yesterday 5/18 as a result. Some one is going to have to take over or else it is lights out for CVG (R.I.P. a sad story).

Either way its a win for Comair because if they didn't get rid of their 22 jets. Guess where they would have gotten them from!!!!

Didn't Freedom operate some 900's and DHC8's up in the northeast for Delta? Or does this ruling not concern those aircraft? I don't have the energy to read that whole document.

Freedom's 900's were already taken and sent to Mesaba (5) and ASA (10).

Obviously I hope all 50 seaters go away and mainline gets more of the flying back. You know--remove 5 RJ flights and replace them all with 1 DC9 or MD88. But, if someone does have to replace some of Mesa's flying, I vote for Expressjet. Those guys did a great job in SLC and LAX. Maybe they can come back.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Don't know if any DC9's can hold 250 people.

Think you are going to have to replace 2 rj's for every 1 MD88.
It takes 4 f/o's to make 1 DC9 f/o pay and 2 capt.
If the public wants frequency then the RJ's are still the right airplanes for the job.

we have had a lot of Freedom trips here is proof or one of many. Look who was flying them last month to these dates:

DPL: Rpt 0825 25Jun106433 CVG 0925MSP 1033CRJ107208 20825Jun106324 MSP 1140CVG 1430CRJ040150 15025Jun106360 CVG 1510ORF 1646CRJ054136 13625Jun106349 ORF 1740CVG 1919CRJ0139 139

And look at the DAL sch for July/AUG. F9 to EV:

DTW- BDL, CVG, BNA, CAE, CAK, CHS, CLE, CLT, CMH....
CVG - BDL, BNA, CLE, ..

I agree with this part of the Gen's statement. Wouldn't it be nice if the Delta pilots grew a pair! They may actually have merged with a pair in NWA, time will tell. But one thing is certain, only Delta pilots can negotiate back Delta flying. But up to now they haven't had the guts! Ooh, I hope we get some flying back whine, whine, whine. Go out there and negotiate it back! Man up ferchrissakes!

Say what you want, but honestly I haven't met a 767 Capt lately that would give away scope, primarily because they were MD88 Captains before the BK and saw their own flying go the way of the RJ. I think a lot of people early on (96 contract) didn't think RJs would proliferate like they did. Things were going so well just before 9-11, more people looked away when the 70 seater came around. The 76 seater was forced upon the DL pilots by a BK judge (I thought it would have been more seats, actually), and now I don't see any more scope givebacks unless there is another BK judge doing it, which is unlikely. I certainly wouldn't give scope away for more pay. I think we will get higher pay and NOT give away scope for the next contract. A 100 seater will not willingly ever go to the Regionals, unless it is in Joe Merchant's dreams. (along with a donkey and a broomstick)

How about better rumors coming out of this thread? How about DL possibly hiring 900+ over the next two years, with newhires going to the A320 and MD90 fleets. There you have it. Giving away scope, would mean all of that would go to waste, and we don't want that, right?

I absolutely don't want that! I'd like to see all flying done under the brand done by pilots on the list. So far, only AA has proposed that. I suggest Delta follow their lead.
