I'm going to vent here because it has gotten to far. This aviation industry needs some help, but the managment would rather sell the crutches than try to help it stand. Lets be fair here and let the dying airlines fail. If we are truly deregulated then Chapter 11 should be followed by chapter 7. That is to say if you can't get your act together. How many of you out there flying a line don't know about your companies future because it is kept behind closed doors so the next low-ball operator won't find out? And then we have the "new-bie" issue that is the bain of all here trying to keep pay rates at a liveable wadge. What to do about is is unknown by me, but can't belive what goes on at this level and that of the majors. If I had only knew when I was younger that a pilot would become a mear "seat filler" with no personal recognition or value to the company and the people which they serve. I wold have gone for my MBA. Then ran an airline and take 5 million as the company lost millions in a quarter as my exit bonus........whew...... don't really know if that makes any sense but it sure makes me feel a lot better.

The only thing pilots control is aircraft.

When it comes to everything else they are products of thier environment..... treat em like low pay hourly workers...and they act like it....

I'm starting to think Frank Lorenzo is secretly controlling the airline industry from a small unknown Pacific Island. Current airline CEOs have direct phone lines to him and are learning the ways of the dark force....

May-be that explains why management sounds like darth vader but has the common sense of c3p0:D "Í've reduced your pay Luke:( ".

The answer is simple my friends, CAREER CHANGE. I am actively working to get out of the regionals. I've changed careers before, and no it's not easy, but it certainly can be done.

Once you've made the decision to do something else, you'd be amazed how liberating it is.

Just make sure you say it in your yoda voice... and ya gotta add the yoda laugh.

a long time ago in a galaxy not far away -- enter Lorenzo and JO
Lorenzo: OB1 never told you what happened to your father...
JO: He told me enough, he said you killed him
Lorenzo: No, I am your father

ALPA: Your sorcerers ways do not scare us, Has your belief in that ancient religion given you clarivoince enough to conjure up a profit?

MGMT(Vader Voice): Your lack of faith is disturbing. *Hand outstretched
holding a CH-11 filing and furlough notice *

ALPA: *Choke....GAG....Gasp...........*

Line Pilot at FL350: *uncontrolled shiver* "I feel a great disturbance in the force, like 100,000 pilots all cried out in disgust, and then were silenced"
