Interesting, but I was wondering what the story is with the US launch customer, Primaris Airlines. It has been very quiet on that front!

From their website:

"The company also intends to purchase 20 of the new Boeing 7E7-8 wide-body aircraft for delivery between 2010 and 2013, making Primaris the first U.S. airline to join the 7E7-8 launch team."

From Boeings site:http://www.boeing.com/commercial/news/2004/q4/nr_041021g.html

I know that NWA is the first US launch customer in late 2008. We (CAL) start getting them early 2009...

Not doubting either of you, merely stating what was on their website and I believe they and Boeing made a big splash when they ordered them. The reason I remember, was because they were essentially a "no name" ordering a large amount of new planes. Maybe they meant the first order by a US airline?

I see "their" 757 often in JFK, maybe someone on here know what the plan is?

SKYWEST, they will have 76 seats, racquet ball court, bowling alley, and a lap pool. Since the pay will be the same as the 50 seaters every seat will have a 60" plasma with unlimited internet porn 24/7.
PBR

Delta supposedly is getting 24-28 of them via a lessor starting in 2008. This will all be announced officially after we get out of BK in early May. We also supposely have options for 100 more. No joke.

Yeah, the ones NWA has on order/option. They are referring to the post merger fleet. It'll be 2-3 yrs before the operations actually combine, Be interesting to see how we do the fences, slotting, etc. :bomb:

Interesting tidbit last week about the denial of AF/KLM buying equity pieces in both NWA and DL........

The merger dance is just taking an intermission.

Interesting to note the Delta could not fund its pilot's pension plan, yet it can secure financing for up to 128 787's!!!!!! I hope you guys demand a rate of pay that takes that into consideration.

I'll bet Primaris never turns a wheel, and sells their orders/options on the 787 to the highest bidder as the delivery backlog increases.

I agree and I bet that Delta buys those delivery positions. Those 763s used internationally are starting to look their age....

And don't forget, that they are buying JetBlue as well......;)

NWA is the launch customer, in fact we are involved in the testing phase as well. Our first 787 arrives next March/April with service in August.

If you look at the orders look at what IFLC has on order. In my opinion the general is right on, those are DAL's

AMR likes to do things like this, however I would have thought they would have gone public to bump the stock price for their bonuses.

Primaris launched on and when the rubber hit the road with Boeing (READ..down payment), they had their slots removed and I believe they were already re-allocated.....I thought I read that in Aviation week...

IMO...they are for Delta..... the 787-8 is a 1 for 1 replacement for the 76ER passenger wise and it carries 2 extra cargo cans.......Delta has only been interested in the 8 series........of course I wasn't in the room....just IMO

You have obviously no idea what your are talking about. Your perfect for this site, keep feeding the rumor mill.

On option delta has: 10 737-700 with winglets, 40 737-800, 12 767-300er, 18 767-400 er, 24 777-200er, and 30 crj900.

not a single firm order or option for a 787

Northwest is first US cutomer to recieve a 787, they gets theirs on aug 15th 2008

If anyone has any real information regarding those 30 orders i would love to hear it. Keep the he said, she said crap to yourself

Sounds like GL may be right. I am hearing the same from my Delta friends. This is a rumor board, and you aren't the king of rumors. I like hearing what he has to say. A lessor may have the next slot after NWA, and then he would be right. And, DL supposedly can't say much until after they exit BK, which will be in early May. Then you will learn more.

Everybody says they are Boeing's best customers namely AA and UA and DL. They would all say they have some sort of double secret deal. There are probably some slots mainly via lease, but I am certain there aren't that many. Somebody WILL be behind NW and CO for as long as two years in deliveries. It could be devastating if this aircraft is as successful as advertised. You can't compete trying to stick a raggidy B767s on a 12 hour trip.
