apparently the front runner for Buffet's job:

The Barron's piece mentions four candidates: David Sokol, chairman of MidAmerican Energy; Ajit Jain, who runs Berkshire's reinsurance business; Tony Nicely, CEO of GEICO; and Rich Santulli, who heads NetJets. The article says Sokol and Jain are the two most likely candidates and predicts that Sokol will get the top job.

It looks like he has some sort of experience in the aviation world. He was the director of the Omaha Airport Authority from 1994 to 2008.
