Commander, I got my instrument rating through CFII and then taught at Airman for 2 years (2001-2003). I believe that it is the best value for any motivated student to get their private through CFI/II. I agree with the comments (the good and the bad) made by 350 and NYC. Come prepared, take an active role in your training and you will be done in no time with more money in your pocket.

Do however, take the time to have some fun. A must is "The Deli". They have live music 365 days a year. Kind of a dive, but a great place.

I second the comment about The Deli. I deliver for the Pita Pit just around the corner from it and know some of the guys whose bands play there. Pretty happening place every night. Plenty of fun to have in Norman, especially when football/OU chicks get back into town in the fall, but you better spend 95+% of your time making sure you don't wash out of school.
