should we be sending cat a resume or breavment card.

It'll take another 2-3 weeks before that can be answered. The first meeting is in 2 days in Orlando, so sit tight. I'll let you all know (what I can let you know) as soon as a few meetings are done. They should be good if there's no smoke blowing by CAT management. After all, where else will they work if CAT doesn't get purchased so they can keep a paycheck coming in.

I've heard that a couple FAA guys know a little bit about it so obviously some CAT crewmembers know too. I can tell you all this, if CAT is purchased it will only be operating 7 aircraft, the others will be gone. Possible longer-range larger aircraft are in the future. So layoffs, unfortunately, will be taking place. Believe me, I'm a pilot too and I came from the cargo industry, I hate to see it happen to good poeple.

Orlando meeting? I thought you were based in FLL?

What does it matter where THEY are based now, they want to keep CAT going by getting bailed out, they go to Orlando, purchaser makes a decision and goes from there.

Are they meeting with "Cappie"?

Who's Cappie????

CAT......DO, DOM and COO will be there.

Crews will still be homebased and the company will still be based in FLL. If only the planes would be based in the states.

The planes will be based wherever the new contracts take them. There are no new contracts yet, nothing. There's a couple things that the new company may do, but nothing is for sure yet.

well if they go to 7 airplanes that means around 3 crews per a/c. That would be about 21 capts. f/o's and f/e's remaining.
except i hear they have a bunch of pft f/o's and f/e's. that would probably bump out most of the remaining cat first officers and flight engineers. Unless of course the new company drops the pft thing. either way it looks like they wont be hiring for awhile.

Enjoy the Congo Gentleman. Just a hunch but try MirabilisVentures.com, doing work in Congo with water projects. Good Luck to everyone involved.

A little birdie told me the sale includes only 4 airplanes. CAT historically has crewed around 2 crews per plane (usually a little below) so that most likely means more like 8-12 captains and less FO's and FE's.
