CHQ-FO, pretty ballsy post there. I'm surprised these folks aren't skinning you alive right now.

He/she doesn't know any better. Probably still overjoyed that people are paying HIM to fly. Ignorance is bliss.

$500 - $1000 is a cheap price for mgt. to pay, thats less than 10% of the additional pay you would be getting if you worked at Comair or AWAC per year. Not to mention bonuses are taxed at a higher rate!! i guess i won't talk about work rules, etc.....

At Piedmont 3 years ago we got a 5 pound cheese wheel. WTF to you do with that? Nothing says Merry Christmas like a bunch of cheese.

Put down your purses 90, boilermaker and 2bits you guys really need to give it a rest. It is amazing the way you act on these boards. Every pilot that I have met from Comair/AWAC/ASA/ACA (does that sum up those that have better pay rates?) are good people and I have had many a good time on overnights with them without any such comments or attitudes. It always amazes me the things that some of you say in an anonymous forum. Have you ever actually confronted a pilot with your feelings?

Maybe we can all take a lesson from the majors board. These guys are losing their careers and I have yet to read a post slamming another pilot group.

This is the only regional I have ever worked for and was impressed that they voluntarily give out Christmas bonuses. All of our companies seem to be profiting and I was just wondering if this was a common thing.

Anyhow, I hope everyone has a good holiday season and a happy new year.

At Lakes you will get at least a Furlough and maybe some sandwich from 7/11. Thanks Doug Voss you cheap F$$in Prick

This is some good stuff-LMAO. I guess it is the thought that counts. Right??

Now where is my laminated business card when I need it?

Nothin says Happy Holidays from ASA like 4 randomly assigned moving days to uproot your family to $hithole ATL. The hub closes Jan 31 and they still haven't told anyone when they're moving (except for the volunteers).

CHQ Christmas Bonus

The CHQ "Christmas Bonus" is not really a Christmas bonus. It is a profit sharing disimbursement given at the end of the year.

For a pilot with about 5 years seniority making about 60000-65000/year, the $2000 disimbursement turns out to be a little more than a 3% profit sharing disimbursement.

Incidently, that is the same minimum amount of profit sharing that the new ExpressJet contract pays out.

The difference is, in CHQ's case, this payout is not expressly written in its contract. However, this "bonus" payout has been given consistently at the end of the year for the past several years.

Also, those who say that the bonus is nothing special because it is taxed at a higher rate are misleading themselves. True, that one particular check is taxed higher, but, when you pay your taxes at the end of the year and you total up your wages, you are still paying the same tax rate as the rest of your salary. (unless it bumps you up into the next tax bracket)

Lay off 90, I know him well, and he's a good guy, he was most likely being facetious with that post

Take a lesson from the majors? HA!, thats precious, I've seen a fair amount of other pilot group bashing in majors boards (particularly USaviation.com),
unless you don't think southwest or jet blue's groups count (not to mention airtran, frontier, spirit)
so our mainline 'brothers' are capable of equal or greater amounts of vitriol towards those they consider less than themselves....

Happy holidays to you as well, I sincerely hope yours go better than mine will...(with an extra 500 bucks I'm pretty sure yours will be better )

might i suggest that you take a little bit of your good fortune and maybe buy a round for a crew from a different company (who doesn't treat their crews as well this time of year as chq does) at an overnight and make some new friends

Hint Hint 90,100
!!! (assuming we i see ya on an overnight sometime)

Got the same block of cheese a few years back from PSA. Bad thing was that is was expired the year before. Wrapper was in good shape though.

Worked great for a doorstop till the stink commeth.

This will be my sixth Mesaba Christmas. Never got a bonus or a company card. Maybe that is just a MSP base thing.:)

It is nice to see this year that the captains senior enough to have vacation over Christmas this year have had them cancelled. Nothing says Merry Christmas like telling a 10 year Saab captain he is not on vacation but doing a 4 day starting on Dec 23.
