CHERPLT, how much weight does a good coverletter hold as opposed to a so-so one in getting a phone call for an interview?

I don't know..... My wife who is HR tells me that poorly written, or poorly formatted resumes and or cover letters get sent to the trashcan..

There was a post on the Major board about this very topic started by a 7 or 8000 hour guy. He finally used a professional resume writer..

Gosh I made someone mad......

You guys seem to miss my point. I dislike anyone who thinks they are better than someone else because of the way they got here, or the way they talk or any other reason. NoName is clearly one of these guys and that was only a shot at him.

My post may have come off the wrong way, and there are hundreds of guys who worked harder than I did.

Smacktard,
Do you think I should turn down a job so it can go to a CFI or 135 guy? Why are they better than me? I've got bills too and the big guys haven't called.

Also, check your facts. 1900s at Pinnacle? And that's pretty impressive that my taking a job (that I need) will be the downfall of the industry.

Just glad to be in the game,
Catfish

If you PFT'd to get to Pinnacle via Gulfstream, which, coincidentally, flies 1900s, then Yes, you are contributing to the degredation of the industry and Yes I think a CFI or 135 guy is more deserving than you. If you didn't, thanks for your service and I'll shut the Fizzuck up!

I'd rather hire a guy who served in the military and chose to PFT on his return than ANYONE who quotes "Snoopdog" and believes it is appropriate language for adult conversation.

"shut the Fizzuck up!"

Oh god yes...please do.

Adult converstions? Please. Which site are you logged into? As for hiring a PFT'r, well, that is another topic altogether. I'm not sure how you could justify it, given what you've been thru with the furloughes and management's tactics, kind of puzzles me.

Thanks, I appreciate your efforts for selling us short. I will not forget. Perhaps soon I will be behind the table when you are interviewing with my company. Guess what, YOU WILL NEVER MAKE IT BY ME IN YOUR QUEST FOR A JOB. NEVER. All you PFT apologists can take this to heart. I have a long career ahead of me, I'm sure I will work at many airlines. Perhaps airlines that you dream of flying for. I will work my way into interviewing, it is something that I can do to help the industry (help by black balling every PFT'er I come across). I will not give a thumbs up to an interviewee who has PFT time on their resume. It's that simple. Good luck.

With your attitude I doubt you will be around long My guess is you will be spotted far away and your days numbered by actual Captains. Your attitude is what aviation can do without and not soon enough. The guys at SWA will love ya, only from behind
