Where is the fastest upgrade time?

Why would he go 135 when he spent 100k at ALL ATP to learn to fly a regional

He spent about 18K for all his ratings at local small town flight school. Then he got hired with ATP as CFI.

If he's a straight out of ATP general aviation pilot with a few hundred hours under his belt, upgrades should be the last thing on his mind right now. He's most likely thousands of hours away from meeting the requirements to upgrade on any jet and probably at least a thousand away from it on a prop. Seniority isn't going to be his problem, flight time will be. But, the even more important thing is that as a brand new airline pilot with his limited general aviation experience, he's going to be more than overwhelmed with being an FO.

Tell him to go somewhere that is a good company that he thinks he would enjoy, study hard, and worry about being an FO... it will be more than enough for him for the time being. Upgrade will come when his senority, flight time, and abilities/experience allow it.

What I did was almost 10 years ago, so that information will not be as helpful as advice some of the folks working at regional now can give. The name of the game is PIC time, hence the question.

Fastest upgrade: Great Lakes - right now, they'll practically force you into upgrade class at ATP mins.

Fastest upgrade "without putting up with too much abuse": Hell, I dunno. All of the regionals that don't abuse you seem to take at least three years to upgrade, unless your bro has the time to upgrade at SKW.

If he wants quick PIC time, there's going to be rough times ahead. Period. The debt he's likely racked up at ATP may preclude him from joining any of the aforementioned crappy, quick upgrade regionals. If he's genuinely concerned about QOL, Horizon and Republic are hiring...

My brother is starting his aviation career. Currently instructor at ATP looking to start at a regional. I'd like him to go to place where he can get PIC time the fastest without putting up with too much abuse. Any suggestions?
