My brother is starting his aviation career. Currently instructor at ATP looking to start at a regional. I'd like him to go to place where he can get PIC time the fastest without putting up with too much abuse. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Upgrade on the CRJ at SkyWest is just over a year, but just like any other airline everything could change tomorrow and it could take him 5 years. It's a great company and there are bases everywhere.

Does it have to be a regional? Under part 135 you can be a turboprop captain with 1200 hours, even less if its under VFR or as a training captain.

Does SkyWest still require 2500TT and 1000 hrs crew time to upgrade? If so, I'm assuming that upgrade would take more than a year for this particular individual at SkyWest.

A new hire can hold captain at Pinnacle if they have 3500tt and 500 turbine.

Actually its 3500 total time, 1000 turbine, and 2000 multi engine.

Why not just ask which regional sucks the most. The answer is likely the same.
