It's one step forward, two steps back at the office. Crew names are gone BUT now we're supposed to be doing our own load control. I have vented, raged, complained and argued about this internally but apparently no one wants to listen so I'll vent here on a public forum. Maybe some of our pilots will see it and understand why they're sitting on a pad at some podunk outstation waiting for numbers for 30 minutes.

We simply do not have the time to take on what was a full-time job by other employees. If we are supposed to watch our flights effectively and safely, they need to either keep the employees that do this now or have the pilots do it themselves. There is no other option. I'm an aircraft dispatcher not an aircraft weight and balance specialist. I don't have time to screw around with bag counts and passenger discrepancies because some outstation personnel can't count or completely ignores loading instructions. I would kill to see how much money we've "saved" with dispatchers doing W&B.

I refuse to do load control.

Mids are coming back in August.

do anything possible to get your foot in the door at fedex. you will be so much happier in the long run. give it one year...

Well, at least there's one CX person out there. I just thought it was funny that Crew Scheduler comes before Flight Dispatcher on this forum. Anyways, I have no clue how this thread became a union bashing thread, but what the heck. Laziness prevails.

And the special "double-ring" feature... even better than CID because your ears tell you who it is.
