Are there any crew schedulers on this forum? I'm beginning to wonder. It seems to be a very lopsided dispatcher forum. So, if you're a crew scheduler or crew support, speak up, be heard!

I do...and that's enough for me.

my shift button is broken

i care too. no wait. i stopped caring 2 yrs ago. anyway...

had a guy tonight ask why we filed him for tomorrow. proposed at 0230Z - you know, the next zulu day.

dispatcher briefed him after he took off about thunderstorms along his route. he stated he didn't see them. i wanted to send a message saying "the thunderstorms aren't there tomorrow."

i love my job.

no more names on releases, ss. whoop-dee-do.

isn't it amazing! how long have they been saying this would happen? 2+ years? see, there is some sort of progress without a contract...

Yeah, it's great. It would've happened faster without the union.

Congrats on the no names.

That means NN has nothing to do anymore !!. Does the TOM delay code still exist. I heard he hashed his mandatory sit with the dispatchers day too..

Any news on Midnights. Are they truely gone ?

It's one step forward, two steps back at the office. Crew names are gone BUT now we're supposed to be doing our own load control. I have vented, raged, complained and argued about this internally but apparently no one wants to listen so I'll vent here on a public forum. Maybe some of our pilots will see it and understand why they're sitting on a pad at some podunk outstation waiting for numbers for 30 minutes.

We simply do not have the time to take on what was a full-time job by other employees. If we are supposed to watch our flights effectively and safely, they need to either keep the employees that do this now or have the pilots do it themselves. There is no other option. I'm an aircraft dispatcher not an aircraft weight and balance specialist. I don't have time to screw around with bag counts and passenger discrepancies because some outstation personnel can't count or completely ignores loading instructions. I would kill to see how much money we've "saved" with dispatchers doing W&B.

I refuse to do load control.

Mids are coming back in August.
