Oh no, I have not applied there, I do have a few friends that work there and hate the place, one is on his way to Net Jets, and the other is looking. What I meant is that building a relationship with this man Barry is not worth the aggriviation, unless you want to be his man date. Just find some where else, there is a lot better out there, the right 135 outfit will be a lot better fit. I love my job, work two to three days a week, home most holidays, four weeks paid vacation, and well into 6 figures.

They are working on it, not every place is a good fit for everyone. To me it just seems like to many hoops to jump through to get a job that is going to pay less than what you can make driving a cab.

I am happy you found a great job (with only 2200 hours even). There are few out there these days. I'm coming in on the end of the thread here so I'm not sure what was covered besides frax jobs and "man dates"...

I'm sure that you learned more from Dr. Newmyer about professionalism and tact than you are showing. I hope.

Each to his/her own is what applies here.

I've flown for a 121 major. I got a chance to do that at an early age. The job, when offered a recall, is not the same job I signed up for; not the same job I scraped for, worked for, sacrificed for. I will likely stay where I am.

One thing that will become more important as you get older is quality of life. It just will. Commuting, hotels on your dime, bad food... not things I look toward for the next several decades.

Double digit lower pay than a few years ago, reduced contract language and no pension. Not sexy. That's why I'm here... well, that and furlough.

Flying for people who buy tickets for the man or flying the man. Hmmmmm. I wonder who has the power there. I wonder which pilot group has more bargaining power under the overly restrictive federal interpretation of the RLA? See Dr. Kapps for details.

Taxi driver? Sure. I prefer to think of these planes as high performance sports cars though.

Oh yeah... and all the free Starbucks you can drink.

Money? It's good.

I agree that not every place is the right fit for every person. Although I question whether you've done any research on the company. Comparing a cab driver's salary to ours is a bit of a stretch...

That is true, the cab driver seems to make a bit more until you hit the five year mark at CS, like I said too much aggriviation for a starting pay of 42K a year.

That's your opinion. I think a flying job starting at 40K is some pretty good scratch especially when you are treated as well as we are at CS. We know our schedule a year in advance, no pagers here like the corporate guys. Quality of life is great here at Shares and we are going nowhere but UP. Is it really aggrivation or just pure being lazy about persuing something? Maybe it's best you stay away from Shares SIUCAVFLIGHT, you sound like a crybaby and we don't have crybabies at CS. Try NetJets, their nothing BUT crybabies.

Well now you've got me very curious...I don't normally do this but I have to know: are you telling me that a cab driver is making more than $90,000 (at year three, not five)...and don't tell me "oh that's just with overtime"...yeah it is but for a cab driver to make that much I would think he'd pretty much have to be LIVING in that cab...really I'd like to know because if this is true I'm putting in an application to cab driving school

The guy I do know does work about 60 hours a week, and he makes about 85K a year, give or take a few thousand depending on business that year, but think about it, he has no degree, and does not have tens of thousands of dollars tied up in training.

Dude, tell me where you work - a guy with 2200 hours total time that makes six figures a year and works 2 to 3 days a week? And then craps on CS...You must be a defense contractor or a defense lawyer. Is any of your time jet PIC time? Sign me up man...I want a piece of your action!
