I would think and EASY case could be made that a CEO taking Delta to Washington DC to speak with our elected leadership would spend MORE money by NOT taking a private jet.

These guys bill out at $1000/hr for their time. They just do.

Spending $500 on a "1st Class Ticket" that involves a stop in ATL after running the gauntlet of flying from a "less than optimal airport" like LAX when VNY is closer to one of the CEOs homes and checking in for the flight 2 hours in advance is just crazy. And that's if the Delta flight is on time.

1st Class on any airline is beginning to look like a Crew Room/FF Mile buring machine anymore.

Security for a high profile individual is also a concern... there are several more.

It's just cheaper to fly a private jet, nonstop.
 
It goes without saying that I agree with Flylow.

The airlines simply can not be the solution to every business traveler. Far too much wasted time in the process.

Time is money. Business aircraft are time machines.
