I agree that wearing a suit is the proper way to interview, unless you were specifically told otherwise. Always look, act, and present yourself as the professional you are. I've worn the same black suit, white LS shirt, and reddish/maroon tie for my last 7 interviews (with only 1 no). My last interview I was told that a jacket was not necessary, due to it being summer time and all. I still wore it, and when needed, could easily take it off. Remember, looking clean cut and professional is half the battle (and the easy part)and you shouldn't have to waste much time with it. Concentrate on preparing for the verbal and technical aspects of the interview and things should go quite smoothly. Good luck.
