Thanks a lot Virgin America

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/080303/nym047a.html?.v=1

Ultimately, unless the US agrees to phase two of Open Skies, and lets European carriers bring better quality products to services between US cities, then the new entrant airlines face the prospect of Heathrow access being denied, as phase one will be unwound.

Let the race to the lowest labor costs begin

So, just to recap.

Open skies phase one gives US carriers unlimited (yet severely limited) access to Heathrow. Great deal.

"Among the benefits, the Agreement is predicted to bring billions of euros in economic benefits, millions of additional passengers and up to new 80,000 jobs over a five-year period".

Any guess where the jobs, $, and pax are coming from?

PIPE

And just where does the article point to VA? Unless you are truly nieve, what do you think the majors are going to do with open skies? Delta/Air France/KLM? It is going to be a blood bath and if you think that VA has much of a dog in this fight...you are sadly mistaken! Wake Up....things are about too get pretty UGLY EVERYWHERE!

Better quality???? Better quality???? There isn't one European carrier that can come to the US and operate on any better scale that any current operating carrier.

I guess the delays and the weather will just micracuoulsy disapear once Ryan shows up. Maybe Air Berlin will ease the cost of jet fuel in the states. I can see it now, Air France starts sevice between BOS-SEA and not one American will ever complain about the service or food again now that they are here.

Puuuleeeaassssszzzzzz. Same Shi t, different day. All they will find out is that corruption is king and Americans are fickle, whinny, and very dis-loyal if they can save $2.50.

Just what do you think Virgin America is? The tip of the iceberg, my friend. Imagine multi-national corporate shell games. Flying our US routes with companies based overseas using Eastern European or some other cheap pilots. Truly the end of what's left of this profession.

Am I chicken little? Just fighting for table scraps from our corporate bonus stealers
