Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is GoJet? I am aware that it is an alto ego of TranStates but is it the same type of thing as the whole Freedom Air mess? any info and opinions from Trans State pilots would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's not 100% clear yet what GoJet is or will be. It is a new carrier with a new certificate owned by the owners of Trans States Airlines. It was started to get around American's scope clause which prohibits any of their code share partners from flying anything larger than 70 seats. (Except the ATR 72 that TSA flies.)
What does it mean for current TSA pilots? That's a good question. The current answer given by our mgmt is that it is a "separate company" but that we are welcome to apply for a job. We would get to keep our longevity for pay purposes but would have to give up our TSA seniority #.
What about our scope clause? You mean the one that says "all flying in and for the scheduled revenue pasenger service of the company...shall be performed by active Pilots on the Trans States Airlines Pilots' Seniority List and shall be flown in accordance with all of the provisions...blah, blah, blah." Oh, and the one that also says "The company shall not create or acquire an alter ego carrier to avoid the terms and conditions of the Agreement?" Yep, that one. Well, apparently, that all depends on the definition of The Company which unfortunately is not defined anywhere in our contract.
What is ALPA doing about this? Unknown (at least to me) at this time. I've heard that "something" is being done but that's about it. The silence from both sides is deafening.
Any more questions?

I haven't heard much either. Although I've got an interview soon. Sounds like a good deal, but I hate that there is friction with the TSA group.

It is being set up as an alter-ego. I think that says enough.

If you "hate" the fiction as you say, then why even entertain the thought of interviewing with them and adding to the fiction?? Sounds like a double standard.

Yeah it's an AWESOME deal for the airlines that can now have the old $100/hr mainline FO flying on the left seat for half that much, and sitting next to him a kid from one of the academies making $20/hr ...... Sounds like a good deal alright huh ?

Man, I knew I'd get arise outta some folks with that post.

All I want to know is what it's REALLY about. Not what those of you looking for some cause to rant about have to say. Not that your opinions aren't worthy, but anger usually clouds judgement.

Somewhere between the Kool-aid and the Tequila there is something worth saying.

Besides, the whole thing appears to be to get by AA, not TSA's contract. Way I hear it some TSA guys are going too.
I'm sure as ... not going to keep making propwash to keep people from being pissed. If you want to argue the mainline A/C for lower pay, you're too late. It's done, it doesn't make it right, but it's here to stay.

Accept a job there and you are a worthless piece of trash, simple as that. But hey you'll get to fly a new jet. That's fricking cool! What a good deal...

I hope you TSA guys keep track of these scumbags so we'll have a list of them when it's all over.

Jetscreamdriver, the Freedumb pilots got a few months of CRJ-900 time and now they're blacklisted forever. Is that what you want for yourself? Think about it before you sign your soul away.

Anyone clueless enough to go fly for Republic, Freedumb, GoJets, etc. better be ready to stay there FOREVER .... The only place you can go from there is DOWN so enjoy your shinny jets while they're still new, they'll grow old with you in them .......

This place is another Hulas piece of Trash!!

GoJet Payscales..

CPT

<1 $56.00
1-2 $58.00
2-3 $60.00
3-4 $62.00
4-5 $64.00
5-6 $66.00 (Trans States is approx same for 50 seater but its block to block)

and $2.00 per year up to 15 years where it tops out at $84!! WTF??? Trans States tops out at 81.54 for 15 years on a 50 seater!!! mind you this is for the 700 and 900!!!!!

FO

<1 $22.00
1-2 $25.00 (approx)
(tops out 3rd year around $34.00)

* minimum 9 days off on schedules
* no scheduling protections after reduced rest
* single medical plan $105
* family $350!!
* CREDIT TIME ONLY!!!!(again Trans States will make more!! especially in ORD!)

They are offering Trans States pilots their longevity and vacation (up to 5 years) to go over to GoJet... pfffffffffftttttttt...!!!!

Any TSA person that goes over there is extremely stupid!! When the TSA contract is negotiated next year we will make more flying 50 seaters then they will 70 and 90 seaters!! You may get a quick upgrade but you will be stabbing all ALPA TSA pilots in the back!!! You basically working for Hulas without any contract protection!!!

They'll already be doing it for half of what it's worth ... at least their dignity will be gone by then so they won't feel the shame of making less than you .....

No, the GoJet pilot will make less NOW. While the payscale is about $1/hr higher, everything else is worse. Block only? Think of all those delays you will be taking at ORD, all unpaid. And it just gets worse from there. Every possible corner has been clipped. I'll bet when they publish the per diem it is even less! The TSA flight attendants have better work rules.

Trans States pilots are receiving "invitations" to go to Gojet with their current seniority. Why is TSA ALPA not making any kind of a statement about the ramifications of going to Gojet? If it is such a "career ending" decision, don't you think there should be some guidance out there for the 90% of pilots that don't read flightinfo.com?

Somehow I'm not offended by someone who goes by the name "Biatch."

Aside from a few disenfranchised TSA pilots who wrongly believe they are losing something because of GoJet, there appears to be nothing wrong with going to GoJet. I hear they are represented by Teamsters and that they have received no challenge from ALPA and as stated in previous posts no comments one way or the other from TSA ALPA or national. So seems to me it simply is another opportunity to fly for a new airline. Albeit the rates are not great but how many airlines growing today have great rates?
