Yeah, the F-27 is pretty cool. They are getting pretty old though-it's a flying history credit! I am really looking forward to flying the atr-better climb performance, efis and an autopilot will sure be nice! As far as the quality of life at Empire goes-I am writing this message from a delapitated old trailer down in Oakland. I am flying the yvr to oak run this week and it is a pretty brutal run. However, for the most part life is pretty good at Empire. There are little complaints here and there but overall I am pretty happy here.

You're all a bunch of pampered babies. Empire ain't that bad, it beats flying 135 in some old delapidated Seneca.
As for the F, its a cool old airplane, and it takes a little more of my hearing away every day, but I love and respect the old girls, especially on the SE Alaska runs. As for the ATR it is going to make life nice, ones on its way to YVR next month.
The Caravans are a lot of fun to fly and the lifestyle is top notch. Portland is a great Caravan base, the guys who work there are a super bunch of guys.

WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I"VE BEEN SITTING BETWEEN TWO DART ENGINES FOR THE LAST % YEARS! The F-27 is a good forgiving airplane. Empire is a pretty operation, but like every other regional it does have its problems. The SEA base is THE place to be. Best group of pilots, and flying in SE Alaska is way cool. The pay is pretty good for the size of airplane we operate. Layovers in JNU are fun. If you are career minded, I would stay out of the Caravan. As far as the airlines are concerned a Caravan and a C-182 are the same thing (sorry Fokkers&beer, I know how much you love that death trap!)

blingair-
thunderworm is someone you have never flown with but know. I am sea based and have drinkin beers with you in jnu.now i have power over you maybe we will fly together.peace
