If USAir and AWA didn't merge, there would be one airline left of the two, AWA. USAir was nothing but a turd flowing out to sea.

My whole point! Then all of this bickering would have been a mute point. It seems the USAir guys are somewhat arrogant and demanding, considering they were on the verge of losing their company!

If the HP-TZ merger had gone through (still wondering what happened to the financing), this topic wouldn't exist. America West would be going to HI, and have a presence on the east coast and in Chicago it didn't have before. Probably going to Europe by now.
