It sad and shocking to be reminded of how many people out there have a slave mentality and continue to live under relative disparity throughout the entire population....

It's sad and shocking to be reminded of how many socialists there are out there who don't believe they can provide for themselves and are demanding handouts from the successful! :(

BBB

There's a lot more "successful" people looking for handouts in this climate. But keep drinking the Kool-Aid, BBB. You think more like a communist than the socialists do! Instead of working for the glory of the state, you're toiling away for the glory of the market! (Or maybe Rush Limbaugh, I'm not sure which.)

I'm glad you find it humourous that some of us do not envy or lust after what others have or achieved. I don't wish anyone ill will about their success and believe every dollar we can keep from the government is a success.

Self reliance has left this country when we believe the government is here to take from the rich and give to the undeserving. I grew up amongst men who took pride in what the had and what they achieved and would not take a hand out even if forced. They never complained about not having stuff and never complained that the rich were rich and how unfair it was or is. But i guess that is getting bred out of the newer generations. All day long i hear about how poorly everyone is paid and yet it appears for the most part men have given up on being men and instead demand government take care of them and punish anyone who attains more than them. And most of all punish those evil rich people. And like i said i make 35k a year....would i like to make more heck yeah do i feel entitled to any of your money since you make more than i?...Of Course not. But Obama would probably think it would be fair. So fork it over, that is change we can believe in :)

Lol your arguements make little sense....Jumping from wanting to punish success to accusing people of being socialists without knowing what socialism or communism truly is.
I agree with the point BBB made. Stop demanding government do what you can't do for yourself, educate yourself, get ride of your class envy and enjoy life, life to short to worry about what everyone else has.

How about the fact that 44,000 people,.05%, of the New York City population pay 50% of the New York City Income Taxes? The city is conconcerned if taxes are rasied on these individuals they may leave the city 10,000 leaving would bankrupt the city. What is fair?

Reminds me of a great quote from Margaret Thatcher: "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

"Communism forgets that life is individual. Capitalism forgets that life is social, and the kingdom of brotherhood is found neither in the thesis of communism nor the antithesis of capitalism but in a higher synthesis."

You sound like you are afraid of "the man" keeping you down. The beauty of real free market capitalism, is that if "the man" is being tyrannical, then you can become "the man" yourself by offering a less tyrannical company to employ people. The trick is in maintaining a government whose sole purpose is making sure we all play by the same rules, without favoring one "man" over another. That's libertarianism.
