How would the company be able to have a thread on FLIFO earased from existence?
More likely someone from the union. They have thin skin for any suggestion Options is being "wound down" despite the fact everyone is reminded this is Kenn's promise to every Flexjet pilot he talks to.
And you believe him? Really, after everything we've been through? Do you believe his "promises "? What else has he promised that hasn't seen the light of day?
No surprise Flexbid is gone. The guys at the top(the 20 or so) already got their payoff so there is little union support from them. So should the union cater to the nonMIGS? That would be really doom the union. Uncle Kenn doesn't like Flexbid anyway. He really wants the 8/7. The 7/7 was negotiated at the expense of the 16+2. The Options pilots have been on this roller coaster for decades.
This simply isn't true. First off, KR has told us many times, and I heard it directly from him, that he likes Flexbid after learning about the benefits to the company. Second, one of the negotiating reports said "the company made it clear that they want to keep flexbid". And third, and most importantly, his preferred schedule is evidently the make-your-own as that is what he has implemented for the red label. If he liked 8/6 (or whatever) then thats what he would have demanded for the new fleets. But he didn't. The union proposal of a combo of 7/7 and flexbid seems to be a good compromise. Personally I wouldn't mind if the make-your-own someone gets into the contract as well but my brain hurts just thinking about how to make that work.
And in response to someone else posting about red label not doing well, what's your source on that? I'm not part of the program but I'm still rooting for the sales department. According to the recent email we are evidently on track for record sales. Sounds like it is doing well to me.
And for my third mini-rant, I don't agree with the "you'd better support the union or you're going to lose XYZ" argument several people keep pushing. Trying to get support by spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt is not effective. Stick to facts.
