With all of the time we spend on the road...Fr8 Dogs are famous for figuring out new and exciting ways to pass the time...It all started for me with the BQQbie bars but then I ran out of money. Now I play PS2 and have madden tournaments with whomever I happen to be paired up with. Give me more ideas of what yall do on the road to pass the time. I'm in need of more...got a wife so the gf thing is out of the question.

I have a laptop.... currently im playing this massive multi-player online game called Shadowbane. wow what a huge and complex thing.... its its own little world. I can spend many hours in there...
But soon ill be enrolling in E.Riddles online program and finally getting a college degree.

Domestic Freight doggin stuff - typical fly to outstation and wait 6-8 hours.

Have breakfast, make phone calls, watch boob tube for small bit; CNN, CNBC, etc. Go work out, have small lunch and/or go for a walk, go to stores, bookstores, or anything interesting, work on laptop computer- numerous projects or surf the web, possibly study work related issues, like systems, immediate action items, limitations, etc. (this is usually very good for inducing sleep), Have a power nap if I am absolutely whipped. Go back to work.

Any kind of variations possible, if a car or reliable and easily utilized public transportation is available; opens up a lot of options.

International Freight Doggin Stuff - long legs, a day or more layover.

First Off: SLEEP! Then any of the above domestic diversions, get together or hang around with other crewmembers- try to plan something if anyone is interested, If some money is available and layover is in an interesting area, travel & exploring. I on occasion go on day walks where I might walk 20+ miles, I have a travel digital camera I bring with me on trips so that when I am out and about I can take a bunch of pix, download them to the computer and manipulate them as necessary.

I guess I try to keep busy.

things to do

I know everyone is going to laugh at this one:

I actually try to study/memorize flying stuff for possible future interviews. FAR/AIM, Turbine manuals, Airline Pilot Tech. Interviews, etc. It's actually quite boring (many naps included) but I would hate to think that if I miss a question on some future interview because I was watching the same repititious(sp?) news instead of studying, I would be disappointed in myself. I also try to take walks whenever possible. This job does not promote a healthy lifestyle.

That said, I also like to try to catch any local attractions that may be specific to the area ( like Memphis Belle in Memphis, etc.) 'cause I'm too poor to actually take a real vacation!!

Fly safe,
Jeff

Listen to ABBA and the Carpenters...

Boy Fr8DOggydog...am I glad were not paired up anymore...I was about tired of your Chris Farley rendition of Baby, Baby, Baby (Carpenters). Have a good week off.
FDNIT

ps...JK had a great time this week...but not as much fun as you did :p

I usually grab a bowl of cereal...usually in the hotel by 10:00 AM. Then a big nap 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Then head up the hill and get cracking on the precor eliptical trainer, up at the fitness center for about an hour. Grab some lunch. A shower. A few minutes of Extreme Televison or REAL TV with Amad Rashad OR play some MUMBLETY PEGS, without the pegs. Depends on the mood.
