Mesa

A $15 coupon for a Butterball turkey and a Christmas card, big party in town after the holidays. But I'm just a CFI here so as CFI gigs go it's about the best one could get. If I wasn't commuting to it, it'd be a GREAT CFI job. Not much real room for complaint here.

I guess there was food at the hubs for crews working the 25th and we also got a nice electronic memo on the website with a three-liner "Happy Holiday's" message from our COO (if your Adobe Acrobat is working.) I'd settle for our current contract minus all the bad stuff they're trying to give us... Stayin smilin!

Peace to all in the New Year.

We don't have Christmas in Hawaii. Therefore, no bonus. However, this is the first year on record that the company didn't charge the employees for their own holiday party.

We got a memo that said you would be fired if you called in sick over the holiday. It wasn't really for christmas, though; it went from before thanksgiving until after new years.

So what if you are actually sick between Thanksgiving and New Years? Fly sick, and infect the rest of the crew?

I heard someone say that our CP's were calling people who called in sick last year to find out if they would be getting ill again this Christmas.

Anyway, I'm enjoying 3 days off between Christmas and new years as well. I won't be answering my phone either!

When you're in a union, you work within your contract. Most pilots refuse to perform any functions outside of their contract. If at Christmas you would like Management to provide you with a bonus, write it into your next contract. If you're looking for extra-contractual "goodwill," the question is, did the pilots all organize and chip in to buy something for Management? Or does this goodwill only go one way?

The contract sets up minimum standards. They dont have to do anything beyond. But having said that, they should behave appropriately when there is not a rule covering something. Do the right thing in other words.

And BTW...When they stop STEALING my 7.5 year old contract from me and my brothers and sisters, and stop SNOW-JOBBING me with the current negotiations, then I might think about some reciprocal 'good will'.

Until then, screw em! They havent earned any good will.

My Company gave me the 2 things that I have always complained about not having.

A pot to pi** in, AND a window 2 throw it out of!!

Woops, just kidding. I only dreamed they gave me that.

My company gave me an overnight in Ceader Rapids and an overnight in Springfield, Mo. Besides that I got nothing. Not even holiday pay.
