What kind of flight time one should have to be competitive for SWA.

With or Without type.
...hell, how about with or without recommendation

Civ or Mil?

The minimums for people getting the calls are different for civilian vs. military. It looks like the military folks getting calls are in the 3000 tt and 1500-1700 pic turb range. For civilians is probably more difficult to ascertain since not that many civilians post at flightinfo whenever they get interviews and their quals (unfortunately). The recommendations are probably important for the decision board but not to get the invite call unless you know Herb or Gary. Next year there will be a lot of movement so this will all be yesterday's news.
No call yet but it's just a matter of time...and I communicate we some other folks on our same boat...
3800tt
2300 pic turbine
600 jet pic
4 year
737 type
the SWA PD said 95% of the interviewees have the type rating.

In August, at the OBAP conference, I was told by 2 SWA chief pilots that they were not calling anyone in with less than 1700-1800 PIC. In October, I was told by Ryan (a PD pilot recruiter) the same thing. I did not ask if they differentiated between military and civilian regarding these numbers. Hope that helps a little.

SWA would have to have different competitive mins for Civi vs. Mil. If not, and the mins were set too hight, a bunch of Mil's would get excluded as they just don't get as many hours as a Civi.
