Theres no better web site for 747SP fans than this one http://www.747sp.com/

The 747SP is my favorite airliner after the Convair 880. A tremendous resource is the third book in the Great Airliners series, Boeing 747SP (ISBN 0-9626730-7-2). Unfortunately, used copies of this book run in excess of 200 bucks (makes me glad I got mine when it came out for $26.00) since it's out of print.

I am trying to get my client to ditch his BBJ-1 and invest in one of the ex-Saudi 747SP's. It will fly forever, get into and out of relatively short strips, carry enough stores to operate for months and has room for an extra APU which can be used for long term ground operations (so the Flight Engineer can watch DVD's, take showers and keep the aircraft warm in Siberia during stays). I can only hope.
