I have my Multi commercial and Instrument 325TT 61Multi time, 1st class med, FCC radio license, High altitude endorsement, RVSM endorsement.
I live in NC (near statesville)and would like to get some more right seat time. anyone willing to help me out, I am great with people and I am mature (43), I will fly for free for the experience with the possibility to converting it into a paying job.
Obviously paid is better but I am willing to make sacrifices

PM me with email and I will send a resume'

Thanks
David

First, and I will be as nice as I can here, BUT DO NOT FREAKIN FLY FOR FREE! As a commercial pilot you are supposed to be a PROFESSIONAL aviator, and professionals get paid.

Second, go to PSA, TSA, or any of the other carriers that are hiring with low time. You will get turbine multi, AND get paid for it. Good luck.

I will fly for free

David, you seem like a nice guy, and if you lived closer to me I might be able to help you out. But don't ever say those words again!!

There is nothing wrong with flying with a buddy and not receiving any compensation. However, advertising yourself as a pilot who will fly anything for free to build time/experience is not cool.

I'd recommend getting your MEI and find a part-time instructing job. Best of luck.

I 2nd that. If you cant / dont want to CFI don't expect someone to throw you the keys to their C402 and let you fly them around. Lots of guys are still paying their dues flying singles with the hope of moving up to a twin job when their total time allows it.

P.S. DON'T FLY FOR FREE!!

Remember if you fly for free you are taking away a job from some one else (or you) that would have been a paid position.

If you want to fly and dont want a job why dont you just go and buy yourself a 100 block of multi time from your local flight school.

OH YEAH AND DONT FLY FOR FREE!!!!!!!!

The aforementioned comments are correct, however, I know the urge you have to build multi-time in a fast and conventional manner. There are some openings at a place down down in Florida, and room and board will be provided in a private setting. For info, call...

(386) 672-9999...Ask for John.

Thanks!

Isnt piedmont hiring with a wet Multi commercial? Im not sure if they have a training contract but it may be a good stepping stone if nothing else. I thin they fly in the mid atlantic area. It may not be the best regional, but its far better than working for free.

Best of luck to you.

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry.

I do not want to fly for free.
I do not have my single commercial yet.
I am checking all avenues for twin time PAID.

Let me rephrase anyone want to hire a really nice guy with lot's of people experience and somewhat low time.

I have flown a 402 for about 25 hours for a local guy, but they don't fly much.
Currently I can't afford to "buy Time" or get my MEI,

Airlines are hiring low time guys but they want you to come from one of the schools like "delta connection" they said they would look at me when I get closer to 500TT or 200Multi or combination thereof.

The only reason I would fly for free is to help the company transition me into their flight department.

I am just showing my willingness to work.

David,

Put your application in with the Regional airlines. I'm pretty sure if you can get them to give you an interview, you can go ahead and sell yourself the rest of the way. Although, I'm not sure that your flight time is too low these days. If you don't apply, you'll never get the job. Give it a shot, what's to lose?

Papa Johns Pizza
That's pretty funny.
However I am smart enough to do a research on the phone number before I called it.
Another good one is 1-800-gm-truck call it, its funny.

and a lot more satisfying

Dave,

Trans States min: 250/25
Piedmont/PSA: Commercial Multi Instrument only, no time requirements.

I have apps in at all of them, I haven't heard anything yet.
I went to american eagle seminar and they were only lowering mins for flight school grads.
I see you have low time as well, are you flying for anyone?

Do

Free

I believe if you had the op, you would take a position for free.. Don't be ashamed now, you already said that you would work for free, it is people like you that contribute to the state of the industry... When I was doing my private my instructor told me "never fly for free, you will hurt the profession" , I could never understand what he meant until many years later..

Okay, okay, we get the picture! (When Daviator made that ill-phrased comment, I knew a platoon of flamethrowers would show up)

Not yet. In a month I'll have my commercial-multi-instrument and be at about 350/25. Although I know those are extremely low, I may apply with one of the aforementioned regionals (TSA/PDT/PSA) to try and get some 121 time, even though by all accounts, QOL is abysmal at those places.

You might to want to check out Pan Am Academy's program. Cheaper than buying a block of ME time.

I wonder how much they charge???

Try getting a job at a 135 gig. I did that when I was low time. Helped wash airplanes, helped with maint. In return, da bossman let me fly part 91 legs until I had enough time to fly full time with him. Do what u gotta do

Just dont fly for free if that hasn't been said yet:beer:

good luck

Hey Now!!!!

So, if you don't have enough time or tickets - here is my serious advice:

1) Talk to every local FBO in your area and let them know of your goals, talk to the flight school owner not the sandal wearing underemployed flight instructor
2) Offer to wash planes, and do general detailing like vacuum the interior, clean windshields and whatever for possible credit toward flying. Consider offering to mow the airport grass, answer phones, etc for credit and a small paycheck.
3) Talk to the mechanics in the hanger and see if you could apprentice under them - again work it out with the FBO manager for credit and a minor ammt of pay that could equal a minimum wage or more.
4) Seriously consider driving the Pizza delivery truck - those guys make as much in a night as I do on a 4 day trip. My local Pizza Hut dope addict made over $400.00 last friday night... that $400.00 will get you a couple more of hours behind the cowling - you can do this flight training over months and even years.
5) Do not take out a loan for flying costs!!!! Ask for a little help from mom and pop for a low to no interest rate. Sure they would be happier if you were a Piano Player in a Whore House, but being a pilot isn't the worst thing your kid could do.

Basically, I think you should get your body to an airport and if nothing else... hang out a lot and introduce yourself - get to know the local pilots and offer to help, ask to learn. All pilots understand the airport bum, and most of us will try to help him out(and even her on occasion, sometimes more frequently to be honest). By simply being around you can have access to learn more about planes than most pilots, attend a few free groundschool lessons by sitting in the back, and might even find a CFI willing to help you out on a slow day while he builds time / splits time with you.

There are tons of oppurtunities, and if I can help you come up with ideas please PM me. Oh, one more thing..... don't fly for free.

Your first year as an regional FO will feel pretty much like you are flying for free..........:angryfire

Thanks for all the posts.
Currently I work at the local airport 45 miles away, about 2-3 days a week for low pay. I get to shake a lot of hands.
I am 43 and starting a second career mostly out of necessity. I had planned to have more time before I had to start seriously trying to get a flying job.
So I can't do the mom and pop loan thing. They have less money than I do anyhow.
Yes this is a dream of mine, and I have a lot of drive and energy so I can make it happen.

That being said don't everybody jump in here and tell me how much regionals suck.
They will help me accomplish my goal, I'll get turbine time and then I can apply to a local corp and fly a lear for $60K + a year. There is currently a job available for a f/o in a lear salary range $57-$83K per year and Bennies.
Requirements 3000TT and 500Turbine.
So I need to get in somewhere. I live in a small town in NC and all the bigger airports are over an hour from me.
