Are the hiring a pilot or a preacher? Maybe when there's an emergency they'll read the bible before they read the checklist. That ought to work!

As far as televangelists, I'd say almost all are christians in name only and not truely changed. They're all crooks. The true heart of a godly man would feel ashamed for living extravagantly while those supporting him were having tough times.

Amen, brother! We used to do a few trips for a local televangelist. He flew in his GIII, everyone else flew in the Lear 25. Every time I saw him, he was driving a new car - Mercedes, Bentley, you name it. I see him on public access all over the SE. The gist of his sermon - God wants you to be rich. If you're not rich, you're doing something wrong. So, his followers spend what money they have on books/tapes/CDs on how to "get right" with the Lord and become rich.

What about all those bumper stickers that say "God is my co-pilot." I guess they were full of it.

I think someone should print up stickers that say "Chuck Norris is my co-pilot."

What's amusing is the "I-wouldn't-take-that-job-because-of-the-go-to-church-requirement" statements from people who would be perfectly willing fuel the plane, stock the galley, cross the belts, polish the fuselage, and dump the lav. But go to church? No way!

Why are churches buying jets anyway??? It's seems to be such a thinly vailed cash grab. Perhaps the GIII is needed to haul all of the little boys around.

The true heart of a godly man would feel ashamed for living extravagantly while those supporting him were having tough times. In the Bible not one preacher or apostle solicited financial support. The support they received was given by churches or individuals of their own free will. The only time a church was asked to take a collection was by a third party for the poor christians in another town.

When I was working at a 135 operation in Chicago. We had this very large, well known church in Palatine renting out Lear's on a regular basis.

Here's a good one....

You know Willow Creek in Barrington? Besides from acres and acres in friggin Barrington (where MJ used to live so you know it's expensive) and a huge pavillion, they have a private jet. My friend goes there and I was giving her $hit about it one day and she said that it was for the pastors to fly around and preach. She claimed that it's MUCH cheaper to "just have a jet than pay for all those airline tickets."
