For a 1st year guy, the toughest part of picking up at 2nd year pay is going to be the days you'll spend commuting back and forth to OAK. With the slowdown, it may take a while to get to HOU, if that's where you want to be.

I spent my first 10 month commuting, which wasn't a big deal, but it did impact how much open time I felt like picking up.

Year 1: $57k
Year 2: $103k
Year 3: $115k to 120k is what it's looking like.

I don't fly nearly as much as some guys, so you can add quite a bit to those numbers if you're not as lazy as I am.

Even if you get stuck commuting to OAK for a year, it's still a great place to work.

Year 7 Co-Pilot (live in base)

Online to make: $206,000.00

Average monthly hours: 73.25

Pay per hour: $234.35

Average days off(at my discretion): 15

Sick calls: 2 three day trips/1 one day trip

Not typical as just an FO at 7 years. SWA/Guy is a lance captain to come up with these numbers.

Here's how I did, with mostly living in base:

Year 1: $62k or so with about 14-15 days off a month.
Year 2: $102k with about 15-16 days off a month.
Year 3 (this year): probably $105-110k with about 16-19 days off a month. I aspire to be a slacker.

I'm about 2/3 of the way down the list in MDW (which is the most senior base for my seniority range), but this month I work only 3 days after my week of vacation.

Good luck all... and I hope at least this job can stay this good!

How am I managing that? I'm good at my craft I guess.

157 TFP/mth x $109.35 = $206,000.00

Not a lance. Soon though.

BTW, I didn't SAY it was typical did I?

Again, thanks for the continued responses. Now the question is - how do I get an interview?!!!???

4100 TT
737 type
CAL FO (soon to be furloughed)
400 in type

Application already submitted...

Teach me Yoda!!!!!!!!

Seniority and living in base is all it takes. Bid the lines with all turns, give your turns away, sign up for VJA on every day of the month and answer your phone at any time of the day. It can be done. I'd get it on now though because me thinkin VJA is gonna be hard to come by in the months ahead.

If SWA is going to be "overmanned" come January, why are they having the classes (albiet the fini '08 classes) this month? Sounds like the guys already out there aren't in a real welcoming mood.
