Vision Airlines - Dorniers and now 737s and 767s?

I am familiar with the "old" Vision Airlines (aka "Ruby") out of North Vegas. However, about a week ago I heard a "Ruby" 737 (I believe a 737-400) flying toward the Northeast. Now I hear they also have 767s and 737-800s. When did Vision Airlines add the bigger jet equipment beyond the Dorniers? What are the requirements (i.e., type ratings) and where are the pilot bases? Are they just hiring experienced furloughed pilots or are the Dornier pilots actually get bumped up to bigger equipment?

Anyone have more info than what is provided on the website? How is it growing and adding jets in this economic climate?
 
Ruby is the call sign for Xtra Airways the former Casino Express Airlines. They currently operate a few classic 737.
 
Ruby is Vision Airlines. The 737 operation is about a year old. Bases are GPT and MIA. MIA is mostly Cuba flying.

Actually, they have very similar callsigns. "Ruby" is still Vision Airlines out of North Vegas:

Still surprising that Vision/Ruby could add so many big jets (737-400/800 and 767s) so quickly. Wonder if the Dornier pilots got dibs on some of those seats...
 
Ruby Mountian used to be Xtra's callsign. It is now back to casino express as ruby mountain is too hard and long ( thats what she said) to say. Just as the crew and controllers were getting used to it. So sometimes it is still said accidently.
 
Why didn't the change the call sign to Xtra? It seems like both Ruby Mountain and Casino Express are too long and hard.
 
apparently someone has a callsign similar to xtra so we use casino express. it is a little long and contollers are constantly calling us ruby, captiol, compass. so we answer to anything.

Sometimes Vision contracts us to fly some of their routes as well. 737-700 and -800 series AC.
 
Any new details on Vision Airlines?

I think I saw the Vision 767-200 was used in the Russian spy transfer flights (I think they were traded in Vienna).

What's the deal with the 767 fleet at Vision? How many do they have and are they basically hiring typed 757/767 pilots to fly them?
 
Are you guys going to fly that contract for Direct Air from AZO-PBI-SJU in Nov?
 
I am typed on the 737, but with no time in type. 4000 TT, 800 ME PIC Turbine, 2800 ME. What is competitive at Vision?
 
Vision's been running 767's on MIA-HAV the last couple of weeks. Lots of cycles for a really short flight for a 76.
 
I sent my stuff in today, maybe something will happen. If you don't apply you have have no chance at all, right?

Sent everything in via snail mail.
