This topic may have been hit before, but my search left me short of info.
Is Virgin America Cass? And if not do they take j/s'ers? limit on j/s's? F/A jumpseat ok for pilot?
Any info including listing info would be appreciated.
thanks.
I agree with you but it is what it is. The company doesn't allow anyone in FC unless it is a revenue ticket, period. So neither you or I can JS there.
There are only 8 FC seats and I haven't flown a trip yet without all 8 sold out.
We are trying to change it but it will be a long uphill battle. They will first have to open it to company non revs before we have a chance of getting JS there.
CASS = Yes
Jumpseaters = Yes, as many as we can.
Limit = 2 up front for CASS cleared, any open seat in coach is also a jumpseat. No pilot jumpseaters in FA jumpseats or in First Class. The last restriction is because there are no non revs in FC, including BOD or upper management. Don't worry as FC is sold out anyway so it is a moot point. The FA JSs belongs to our FAs and as they aren't allowed up front we can't use their seats.
Welcome aboard, we are very JS friendly. Just fill out the form at the gate and ask the crew as usual.

Do you guys have a lot of jumpseat agreements yet? I doubt that other airlines are tripping over themselves to get you on the list.
Hi Ralph-
No flame here...just curious if you feel pay and benefits will be addressed in the near term? What can you say about the quality of life?
Thanks,
Juice
Well, it's a start up. A few rough spots but overall pretty good. Pay will get addressed as supply and demand dictates industry wide and we will either be a part of that trend or start losing guys to other carriers. We do have a lot of legacy guys here as well as guys tired of the widebody freight world and Indy refugees. We had CASS on day one and I can't complain about the full pay during the delayed start. Now it's time to fly and the flights are full. They are putting us in decent hotels and listening to our feedback on the usual startup issues. Is it nirvana? No, but it is better than some places I've worked and they appear to want to have a good working relationship.
I will not ask for a j/s on VA, nor will I accept a VA
pilot on my jumpseat (AA).
