Who plotted this "perfect storm?" This is, IMHO, a conspiracy by some sick minded management-type to send some poor unsuspecting WB Capt to the panel in the Boeing. VIPs has a "planned" outage for 9 of the last 14 hours before posting 06-2 closes. Give me a break!!! How about a pool on how many Capts will have to go to JL to tell him their standing bid was a joke gone bad because they couldn't get into VIPs at the last minute to fix their standing bid??

AngelKing,
Don't feel too bad--here's the skinny: The MEC voted a no-bid back in July 05. No one thought the VIPs would play it to the hilt, but alas they did. Now JL is going to have to deal with it before the 06-2 posting closes. Only the jokers will be able to keep their standing bids. Got it?

Their "VIPS" is our "Crew Applications". It would be like UPS taking down the RAS while we are trying to bid. I guess they don't have the joy of the VRU to fall back on.

Love the duck!

this is ridiculous!...who is playing jokes with their standing bids anyway...i guess it takes more than 2 weeks to check your standing bids..if u are going to play jokes then the joke will be on you..i know some idiot that put in subic because he thought it would be funny..we were the only ones laughing..at him..when he was packing for the P.I...bid what u want to fly and be done with it!

What he NEEDS to do is get some 30 weight ball-bearings and attach 'em to the fetzer valve with some gauze pads. Then when the tipton swingarm pulls inward he can see all the crust under the carterfield unit. If that doesn't work, nothin' will... You see fella's, it's ALL ball-bearings these days.

Okay, here is the skinny.

What they are trying to say is the move from a structuralist account in which capital is understood to structure social relations in relatively homologous ways to a view of hegemony in which power relations are subject to repetition, convergence, and rearticulation brought the question of temporality into the thinking of structure, and marked a shift from a form of Althusserian theory that takes structural totalities as theoretical objects to one in which the insights into the contingent possibility of structure inaugurate a renewed conception of hegemony as bound up with the contingent sites and strategies of the rearticulation of power.

Got it.

Did you really need to be so condescending? Of course we understood.

Great post!!

Why do the Fedex guys come to an airline interview board to discuss their issues. Isn't there a place for them to discuss their own issues like every other airline has?

Nnnnooowwww it makes sense! Thanks for explaining in such simplistic terms! Whew, thought I was getting more stupid in my old age.:)

Yes. It's Flightinfo.com! It's ours! All ours! HAHAHAHAH!!! We rule the forum!

Cmon!!!!

I'll try to make it easier.

Fedex is basically trying to conceptualize the multiple relations into which they enter, and which they mediate, through Serres’ notion of the parasite, the manifold and complex shifts between the semiotic and the material, the intersubjective and the interobjective (and permutations thereof), and the broader implications of this analysis for the theorization of the object will be explored. Very cold-blooded indeed.

Adios,

SR

You know the funny thing is: Say if Capt Joe get's "screwed" by leaving the MD11 for the 727 panel because he forgot to change his bid - when he washes out of 727 FE training he'll go back to his previous seat - alas the left seat MD11!

Not to pick on you Murph, but I do believe it is the 7th Fetzer valve and you are also going to need some "3 in 1" oil. "You see fellas they're all ball bearings nowadays!"

Thanks for the correction. I haven't seen the movie since I was about 22. That's why I put the word "paraphrased" in parentheses.

And he never stops getting paid as an MD11 captain. Now there's a brilliant move for someone who lives in memphis. Spend everynight at home for two months and then start back where you left off with no loss of pay or seniority. Pretty sneaky sis.

Except that now he has a "training failure" on his record. Around here you definitely want to keep your record clean!

I saw the paraphrased, just had to take the opportunity to quote one of my favorite lines from a classic movie. If you haven't seen the movie since you were 22, I hope you're not older than 23! If so, go rent it asap...stuff like that keeps us young (at least in our minds).
