Higher Power Aviation now puts out a monthly newsletter that is informative about the industry & also demonstrates the committement that HPA has toward helping folks find the job they want, particularly if they wish working for SWA.

Here is the transcript of the e-mail along with the link to the downloadable file.
____________
The Higher Power Aviator December 2002 newsletter is available on the Internet as a downloadable Adobe Acrobat file (.pdf). You will need at least Acrobat Reader (Version 4.0 or newer) in order to open the file. Most people have this application already as one of their Internet browser plug ins. If not, it can be downloaded for free at the Adobe website (www.adobe.com). For those of you in the USA, you can just click on the following link:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

To receive your copy of the Higher Power Aviator, just click on the link below. A dialog should open, asking you whether you wish to save the Acrobat file on your computer or open it using Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. If it gives you the option to just open it, then do so. However, in some cases, depending on your Internet browser's configuration, it may only prompt you to save the file to a particular location. Once you have selected a location, the file will download. The file size is approximately one megabyte (1 MB), so the download may take a few minutes if you are using a dial-up Internet connection. You can then go to the location you selected using your Windows Explorer (or the comparable application if you use a Mac). Once you locate the file (DecAviator.pdf), just double click on it, and it should open up for you in full, living color! The link to the newsletter on the Internet is:

TROUBLE / UNSUBSCRIBE
If you have trouble receiving the newsletter for any reason, or if you do not wish to receive the Higher Power Aviator, please let us know via email at [email protected]. If you no longer wish to receive the HPAviator, just type "Unsubcribe" in the Subject line. If you have some other problem, please provide as much description as possible in the message portion. Our apologies, but if you are unable to open the file with the proper Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, we are unable, at this time, to provide you with the text in another format. If we can do anything to assist you in obtaining the necessary software, please let us know.

NEWS ITEM SUBMISSION
Submissions of news items for future newsletters should be sent to "Editor" via email at [email protected]. We cannot promise that everything you submit will get printed, but the more information we have from you, the better this publication will be. Articles for publication will be by request only.

Best Wishes,

Hope this helps those who are looking at a type school or thinking about SWA. As those who know my background, yes I do teach parttime at HPA & obviously am biased toward them as a type school. I got my type somewhere else so I can make a comparison at least on those two schools. I won't bad mouth the other or name it but I would sum it all up by recommending HPA. Additionally HPA has just introduced a fixed simulator system with full switchology logic on the premises. This will be used to cut down the time spent on the first few sims where time is spent on flows versus flying the aircraft. This new training device will allow sim time to be dedicated toward flying, not learning switch positions. For those who have attended HPA I'm sure you will concur with my recommendation.
