It's bound to happen. If it isn't owl kay-duh, it'll be some other terrorist outfit. Who knows, it may even be a foreign government subsidized CORPORATION that gets one of those things into, near or over our country. Just to wreck havoc with the competition.

Heck, they don't even have to use it against us as we saw with the Spanish train bombings, a bomb used against our allies does just as much damage politically.

With as many countries and small businesses that are getting close to being able to put things in orbit...how long will it be before we have to worry about some third world country detonating a small a-bomb in space over our country, just for the effect of terrorism and to wipe out our power grids and electronics with Electro Magnetic Pulse?

EMP from a 1 to 5 kt weapon would be negligible. So called suitcase nukes generally yield in this range. If you airburst it over a major substation or communications center you may affect a 10 mile radius, maybe.

EMP is a real threat from large yield weapons (over 500kt).
