Did someone choose a bid at Freedom??? You're like the Niagara Falls of bad decisions. But, they are decisive Skipper, they are decisive.

And re-read the post. The answers are there, but you probably would prefer to continue to show the company a $306Mil lesson next quarter. A good decision would be to learn from your mistakes (Freedom, USAPA, A Lanyard Too Far, etc.) and alter course.

What union is DAL/NWA by the way?, Just askin'.

USAPA and East pilots have no leverage and are going for the ride just like West pilot are once we tied up to the sinking USS Airways. Now when this is all done and finished in 5 to 20 years I will not have the stank of USAPA/East stall, low life, lying and dirty politics on me and can say I did my jobs well and did not stab my co-worker in the back because I felt my reps. got me a unfair SLI in my view( which is just like a butt hole and means nothing). Now I am off to Legoland CA with my kids to enjoy some of my 31 days of vacation ..... Mark

P.S.- tell the PHL and CLT reps. to grow up and not act like my 6 year old and take their ball and go home when they do not get their way about the NAC. Cleary hardcore is so 2010....

First of all Mark I sincerely hope you have a great vacation with your kids. I have to ask, why did you buy a sinking ship?

believe it's prorated by the number of months on property. Must have a profit for full year to anything to pay out.....so 300 million this qtr can be wiped out by a 300 loss next qtr.....etc etc.......Then only 10% goes to profit sharing, and Pilots get something like 26% of that or something, divided by those on property...

Unlessof course you clowns ef-it up with another illegal job action.

Nope I didn't go there I stayed away from airplanes for my 5 year unpaid vacation. Started my own biz. My point was that ALPA had the gall to tell furloughed pilots to not take a job there. They weren't smart enough, didn't have to vision to think that maybe there was an opportunty to get them to vote in ALPA all they could think of was to tell people not to work. I did re-read your post and I don't see anything about how we can get leverage.

I guess you weren't aware of how Freedom was set up to whipsaw and undercut Mesa (ALPA). Gojet and Trans States was similar.

You mean you see no connection between unity and leverage? I can't help you then.

You also didn't answer my question about who represents DAL/NWA. How about, who wrote the TA that protects you from Parker grabbing all the benefits of the HP/US merger at your expense. Or who negotiated your profit sharing. Or who negotiated your lump sum payments over the past few years. Or who negotiated the payrates from which LOA93 gutted.

Hint: The answer is the same for all, but you won't like it.

It's managements job to do whatever they can to weaken unions. They have been extremely successful at it since the airplane was invented and they will continue to it. But that doesn't mean a new alter ego airline made to whipsaw the pilots can't organize.

You say "unity" but what you mean is we roll over and take the nic so I can be your FO until I retire. I doubt very much we will ever have unity. I can't believe that you think having a two month pilot being the captain of a 16.4 year pilot would create "unity". Trust me me it wont. UAL/CAL had a 94% turnout and a 99% yes vote for a strike which I believe is pretty good "unity". Where is the new contract? I'll give you a hint...they don't have one.

Yep Delta's ALPA is alowing even bigger equipment to be outsourced. The TA that ALPA wrote for the AWA/US merger was supposed to protect us from one side having a "windfall" by ALPA policy so I guess ALPA policy has no teeth so why again would I want it? Thanks for the "profit sharing" ALPA that $600 bucks last year was great. I would trade those two lump sum payments for a better contract any day it really wasn't very much. Do you even know how much it was? Thanks ALPA for a never ending LOA 93 buy putting a fake end date to the pay rates. I definitely am not smart enough to put a fake end date in a LOA. Good thing I paid ALPA a lot of money to think that one up. Really a FAKE end date???

No kidding Wave I was in the Marines and they highly suggested that you be decisive. Make a damn decision and go with it.

"Win"? I think the nic was a loser for all of us.

What did the Marines teach you about Integrity? Honor? You are a poor example of what it means to be a Marine without those two qualities.

I agree ALPA had no integrity (you don't have to have a capital i for that non-proper noun word) and definitely no honor but those at ALPA national make a crap load of money so you have that going for you which is nice. US Airways has always been a really good example of a bad example so why the hell would someone want to buy them? Do you even know what the Marine Corps is? We fight. We aren't a club. I will fight the nic until the end because I believe it violated common sense, ALPA policy, decency and basic sense of giving some modicum of credit for ones service to an organization.
