Does anyone know how USA Jet views a pilot being int he Guard/Reserve? Are your Guard days taken out of your 8 days off a month?

Guard Duty

I am not in the Guard, so I don't know the specifics. From what I hear from the guys who are is that the monthly guard duty does come out of your 8 days off. (or 12 if on the DC-9)

They generally get people back to YIP for guard duty, but I have heard that they have not always done that. I know the law says they must, but I was just talking to a Captain who is in the guard, and he was talking about a time that they did not get him back for his scheduled days off (he had 8 in a row, and the first few were guard duty).
