Due to the increasing saleries of upper management they are forced to layoff many so that they can afford there lifestyle.

Oh I almost forgot, they have parked the entire Falcon Fleet.

Details to follow after a company meeting at 1:30 PM

Damn, sorry to hear that guys, keep us posted...

Hey guys, I'm sorry to hear about all this. I'm not a pilot or FA and I got the ax too. (I'm sure you can guess who I am). You guys are all in my thoughts.

no comment, I didn't anything this one until this morning when Bill C left.

Sorry to hear about the lay offs. Cape Air is hiring for 2 classes in August and Sepember. We are actually growing and getting more 402's, PM me if interested.

I just heard about this and man I feel sorry for you guys! Another year and another round of furloughs from USA JET. Hopefully it will be short lived guys, keep your head up. I wish we hadn't hired our class already so we could get some of your guys on board. Good Luck

How many furloughed? Looks like Bill C from the training dept.?

Hey guys, for what its worth, SWA will be hiring 550 + this year. I made the jump almost 7 years ago and have not looked back. Rough couple of weeks for the USA Jet gang. Hang in there guys!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Time for me to fire up the ol' resume.

This morning I couldn't get to my company email. Then a call from the Chief and DO. Separation notice is in the mail. YAY!!

Could not of come at a better time when job competition is super fierce out there with 10000 pilots on the street.

Sorry to hear about this. Welcome to professional aviation.

Edit: BTW Pilotyip, this is why you shouldn't go on a public website advertising to all the youngsters on FI of the "hiring boom" in 2007. You just might look like a douch.e one year later...

What's wrong with guys you already hired?

Class hadn't started yet...

You know how much easier it is for me to teach furloughed Falcon drivers as opposed to Cessna flyers? A LOT! Wish I could help out Guys.

lots

27 pilots ,3 dispatchers, 3 training dept, accounting, Cust serv, IT, maintenace, everyone took hits

Good luck to all the good people affected by this furlough. I was one of the unlucky furloughees back in May 2001. Made it a total of 9 months there before getting the bad news.

guess it's not always sunny in usajet land, try not to paint an unreal picture in the future.

like i said before, best of luck guys and girls.

Not a pilot shortage after all, apparently.

Was this event influenced by the recent DC-9 loss?

Bad time for everyone. Here's hoping everyone finds work soon. Tough time to be looking.

I understand this was planned a month ago, and had been intended two weeks ago (but delayed due to the DC9 loss)...but that management waited until today and gave no notice at all.

Not exactly the act of a friend.

Just goes to show that nobody is safe in this industry. Sorry to hear the bad news. Best of luck to everyone forced out. Management can go eat a big ole $hit pie.

Everyone knows who I am, and I can say that the fact that the fiance' and I (who got hired here together, and were both Capts on the Falcon) had a good run, but this one stung way more than any other one that we have been through before. I can only hope that god has a plan in the books for us now, because we are out of ideas and plans at the same time because the household income just dropped to zero. Take care everyone, it was good while it lasted.

I think our new DO should get a set and stand up for something...ah hell who cares he will packing soon. As long as CH is in charge this ship will continue to sink. I am truely sorry for my fellow workers, but unfortunately I will not call for some knee jerk reaction as in the past. Between the accident and now this...it will be a July to remember. Pilot Yip was correct about 07, we had many pilots move off to greener pastures. USA Jet has always had a roller coaster ride of stability, with furloughes or pay cuts. I see this as the first step for slow but continuely decline of market share and QOL. For those that need financial assitance, food or answers I have supplied the following link:
