In the end, I think Skiles is less stiff of a guy than Sully. Not to take anything away from him, but Skiles had this really humorous side to him which he displayed on Letterman well. Sully seemed a bit more cautious and stiff, in a sense. Could be due to the enormous spotlight he's been thrust into.
They both seem like really nice guys and consumate professionals. I would be thrilled to share a cockpit with either of them. I think Jeff and Sully have shown the public and all of us how a professional airline pilot should look and act.
I think the flight attendants as well showed a very professional demeanor and have exercised a level of decorum that the incident and public spotlight deserves.
I seem to remember Jeff saying something to the effect of being "more than over" all of the attention. I'm sure they both are ready to get on with their lives.
Here's to the entire crew for being a bright spot on a sometimes dingy industry.
I'd fly in either seat with either of them any day...as long as I was getting paid enough to cover the bar tab at the end of the day 'cause those are two dudes that should never, ever open their wallet in a pub for the rest of their lives!
