Gotcha. Thanks. Went to airline pilot central today and checked out group II payrates at 76 hour guarantee (short call resv). I would take a paycut for 3 years to do that before i'd be making what I make now again.

Ouch.

Bender,

I believe what is happening is as swaayze pointed out. They expect to go through the rest of the list with the next recall group. As the announcements have come out, another 200 or so to be recalled. As this pre-recall letter helps Charmane sort out, who's coming and who's not, they can speed through quicker.
When they do get to the bottom (including the CEL guys that went to MDA) then that last guy will have to take it or resign. If she has 200 total position with the next recall, and she works her way down the list, at the bottom guy she has 150 Grp II positions still open, then the bottom 150 guys have to decide to take it or leave.
Obviously if it's 190 f/o positions, then you can bypass to your hearts desire.
I wouldn't be surprised towards the end of the year, to start seeing individuals called for Final Group II aircraft, while Mgmt has to go into the CEL list or hire off the street for 190 f/o positions....

That sounds right to me, except that I agree with johnnyb that they'll be calling last call for the bottom guys very soon if there is indeed another 200 slot G2+ (my shorthand for Group 2 or better) recall coming up. I also think we may very well see street (or CEL) hiring for the 190 by year's end.

If US ALPA does not make the 190 FO position a mainline payrate in this new contract then they eat their children more often than I already knew them to. Don't forget, if you are not on the property when the seniority integration happens, then you are subject to furlough again for a year, regardless of your seniority in relation to westies. (Westies are furlough protected for a year).

The proposition that hiring off the street is likely when you have over a thousand on furlough?! WTF does that say about the illustrious ALPA and US?
:puke:

In my opinion the 190 rates are far too high for you people. Take a lesson from the AWA pilots and enjoy working for half as much as everyone else.

Absolutely. I dream every day of the opportunity to come back to that airline and provide you with furlough insurance for 12 months+.

Don't confuse east pilots with east ALPA. I don't know if any of the same familiar characters are involved with the MEC -- but I can tell you this much, if they are the same they will only look out for themselves.

Take some free advice. If anyone should ever ask you if you would like to be on the "pilot action" email list, just walk the other way.

Amen. Who gave away the pension. Nuff said.
