This is such a sad, sad thread. Professional aviators should not be reduced to such levels. Management are the winners, and the pilots have really missed the boat with the opportunity for improvements. Such a shame.

Lurkers: If you are an east pilot, we can make a change. First you have to help unseat USAPA leadership. After that we can vote in a new leadership and change the constitution & rules. We can immediately divert the MILLIONS spent in litigation, and prepare for the next merger with a merger fund. Being short-sighted in the chase for DOH (that will not likely happen), could really cost you if AA, DAL or UAL jump in the merger pool. Stand-up and get involved.

You're off a "little" on the time. The former US Air was acquired by AWA holdings in May of 2005, so we are actually closing on SIX YEARS.

The Nicolau award was delivered in May of 2007. We were only a handful of sections away from a contract (to vote on), when the US Air ALPA MEC instructed the east ALPA JNC members to WALK AWAY FROM THE TABLE in that same time frame.

USAPA was voted in April 18, 2008. Their promise of a new contract (with a DOH cram down) in SIX MONTHS has yet to come even close to being completed. The USAPA NAC (staffed with three pilots that were furloughed at the time of the merger, and with NO previous negotiating experience) was instructed by USAPA leadership to begin negotiations for a new joint contract FROM SCRATCH (real men of genius). USAPA has achieved one goal: DELAY.

If you are so sure that any contract with the Nicolau Award in not ratifiable, we should see if we can get Doug & Scott to offer the Spirit or Delta wage with the AWA contract (a MUCH BETTER contract than LOA93). I bet it would pass by a slim margin.

Prove it! If USAPA put out a contract with $185 an hour and the NIC would it get voted down? No one knows for sure, lets find out!

THe company does not care what "the majority" thinks. They hold a million dollar plus arbitrated seniority list in their hands. They will get sued in a flash if they go along with your little plan and they know it.

USAPA has only done one thing in almost three years, delay the Nic. from being put in place. The latest spin from former CAL pilot Ray that the list fight is over just keeps the former AAA pilots from the truth and in the dark as they were in the arbitration process. Seek the truth, not the spin, it is out there or you are just a clueless leming.
