Actually, what will probably happen is the west will be spun off to Republic. This is more than a rumor.

Cool. An airline I would actually be willing to ride as a passenger. As opposed to the East...

That's OK. There was a whole plane load of people we dropped of in the Hudson last year that were quite happy with our performance (on-time notwithstanding.)

I bet every one would have preferred to have taken a Southwest flight and not had to take the Hudson diversion if given the choice.
