I interviewed March 1st and still no letter.

Did you call them? I know someone that interviewed at the end of March and they were told to call if they didn't hear anything in 4 weeks. Did they tell you that?

That does stink....you must be goin crazy! I was going nuts waiting 2 1/2 weeks for my current job.

Just got the call this morning!!!!!!!!! Possible May 16 class of 11 all 727 DC-8, FO's and FE's. Got to pass the physical. Can't wait to get back to the Vill.

Embpilot1,
Congrats! Did you receive a letter too or did you just get a phone call for the physical? Still anxiously awaiting to hear something...

Never got a letter. Don't know if I ever will. Good luck to everyone still waiting. I know that I am very lucky to have been called to move on.

EMBPilot: First of all congratulations on the call! Did PD give you a choice of seat/aircraft or will you be assigned one? If you have a choice which one would you choose and why? Hope to see you over there. I am eagerly awaiting a phonecall.

Cheers.

He said it all has to do with age. He did not know where I would fall. It is all assigned before you arrive I guess. Of course I would like Left seat, but would be happy on the panel. I may not make the May 16 class. He did not know how soon I could get in a do a physical. It may be the June class. Good luck to you.

Interviewed 03/31 and got a congratulatory letter today from PD saying I have been place in the applicant pool. A friend of mine got a phone call yesterday from PD and I am just curious as to what that may mean. I guess I will be in the pool, while others are placed in class soon. I am excited to be in the pool though. Anyone else know what this may mean? How long have applicants been in the pool?

Those that received a call were likely to be invited for the physical then placed in the next available class after passing the physical. Those receiving a letter and being placed in the pool means just that. You are in the pool. The pool is a "competitive pool", meaning your interview is "scored" and pilots are taken from the pool based on their scores. It is not first in, first out. If there are pilots who happen to interview later and score higher than others who are still waiting in the pool, that pilot with the higher score will get a class date sooner, even though he/she interviewed later. Right, wrong or otherwise, that's the system in place at this time. Last I heard, the pool has about 80 pilots in it. This includes (I think) those currently being placed in the May/June classes.

I interviewed on 3/30, did anyone interview on this day receive any letter or a phone call yet? Just wondering.... Congrats to ya'll all who got the good news today!!! That's great

Well guys.... I posted this not too long ago, but I hope it helps out..... Its a bit strange, but who's hiring practices are "normal".....I knew a guy in the pool for 4 years before he got hired......good luck to all in the pool.... and hopefully see you in the ville.....

Its still a puzzle how they do things, but here is my best stab at it....

If you interview and they really don't like you....... then you get the ding letter withing a week. (For example.... a furloughed Delta buddy interviewed and they asked if he'd be willing to resign.... the idiot hesitated and well.... his letter was dated the next day and got it within 5 days of his interview)

If they interview you and they don't know if they like you........ then you get the ding letter in about 4 weeks.

If they interview you and they like you...... then you get a letter saying your in the pool and THAT is another thread all by its self.

And finally If they interview you and they like you alot........ then you get a call 4 to 6 weeks after your interview getting a conditional offer with a class date, pending your medical. <-----You'll know this because they'll be doing the back ground check on you and if you marked the....send me a copy box... you'll be glad to know your gonna get an offer, just be patient.

There are a few numbers floating around about how many pilots UPS is going to hire......I have heard 700 to 1200. Any Brown Uniforms out there wanna comment on the rumored numbers?

Good luck to all that are applying
