Got the call from UPS today for an interview in a few weeks. It made my week. However, there is a distinct lack of info on UPS on all the interview sites since they haven't hired for a few years. Can anyone who recently interviewed shed a little light on how it went? What kind of sim are they using? Thanks in advance.

There really aren't any gouge sites out there if that is what you looking for. What you need to do is research the company in depth and search other peoples posts on this board regarding UPS. A great place to start is UPS.COM or with the person who recommended you.

Look back a few pages in the Majors section, there was a post that ran on for five pages or so on current UPS hiring. Some of the posters were recently hired or at least recently interviewed. You could possibly PM them and ask for advice. I believe another website that would be helpful is browncafe.com. You might find some info on it. Good luck to you, UPS would be a terrific place to work.

I have some flashcards that I made 4 years ago (I had a lot of spare time and notice before going in) prior to my first interview if interested. I think there are about 200 of them and I updated nearly all of them for my interview last month. They can be printed out on 4”X 6” cardstock, one file (questions) on the front, and one (answers) on the back. I found them very helpful but that’s not to say that they should be your only source of company information/study material. If you’re interested PM me your email address and I’d be happy to get them out to you.

Best Regards,
AJ

I would be interested in any info as well. Yesterday,I got the call too.

Just a few questions:

What is the current retirement like. I see the 11%b fund and the 1%a fund but do they match on a 401k? What about stock, discounts for purchase? I am trying to get an understanding of what the complete package looks like.

How many total pilots? Does someone have a breakdown of the number of pilots per fleet type per base?

I assume that the 757/767/727 fo (SDF)will be attainable within a year. Is their a seat lock onto your first aircraft ex 727fe?

Is commuting to reserve in SDF, your first year a real possibility? How many days off in a month?

How does the 2 month bid package work?

thanks in advance

Interviewed a month ago. My face to face was all situational, judgement, and a few questions on what do I know about the company. No technical questions.

The sim ride was straight forward. They use either the 72 or the A300. They should have told you already what sim and the time.

Mine was in the 72. Handles like a truck in the turns especially at approach speeds on the ILS. My first ILS was all over the place with the second much better. Recommend not touching it for turns if they place you on the ILS with the needle already centered. You may have to adjust the power a couple of hundred pounds plus or minus to maintain Vref plus 5 on the glideslope.

Thanks Everyone. The PM's and help were much appreciated.

Is anyone getting interviews without recommendations? Just wondering, I am trying to get on there, but don't know anyone there.
Thanks

LORs

Cole,
Unfortunately for you they have 8000+ resumes on file and right now the only way to whiddle it down is to have an LOR. I had only one for a long time and I think 2 or more is the magic number.

You can always put a resume on file at the UPS jobsite. You just have to wait for the job to post to apply for the position. I put mine on in March 2002 when they were not hiring and just kept updating it monthly. When the jobs finally opened I applied to the position. Make sure you get some folks who have flown with you to put in LORs for you online. Good Luck.

I had two LOR's (regular line folks, no mgt types) but they both walked in updated resumes for me within the last month.
