Spirit of America Airlines, a cargo 727 and L188 freight company in the late '80s, used the call sign "Starfleet". I thought that was cool. There was even Capt. James Kirk that flew there.

Some military ones...

I herd "Death" the other day when talking to Kansas City Center, I think it was a B-2. Also the airport i work at has "Upset" (KC-135's out of MKE) and "Sweets" (C-130's out of MKE).

The B-2's use "Death" and "Czar".

E-3's out of Tinker use Sentry. The F-15's out of STL use "Bud" and "Mich".

I heard "War Pig" this afternoon.

I think British Airways should dump their "Speedbird" callsign since they no longer fly the Concorde.

"Speedbird" was just a coincidence when operated with Concorde. A "speedbird" is the stylistic design of a bird on the sides of their a/c that BOAC used for many years, just as Lufthansa uses a crane as their logo. It's a brand. Copyright protected, too.

Cheers,

Suggested callsigns if I were king:

Clambake
Trash Can
Dradle (think about it)
Cluster
Blue Collar
Chump
Doughnut

There's so many good ones.
