Yes, a very good one. But I can not reveal it.Got a source?
Yes, but the school was not making any money on the program, and U of I was having to lower their academic standards for the aviation program just so that they could get enough students admitted as so few were applying.
I am kind of enjoying it.Yeah, who in their right damn mind would want to be a professional pilot in this day age???

I fly a corporate jet but for a rich person not a corporation. And this place is a pretty safe bet. But thanks for the warning.I'm not miserable junior, just realistic. Yeah stay away from airlines because corporate flight departments never down size, and are always a safe bet. Sleep tight in that fantasy world.

Yes they do, although I think that pilot training across the country is way down.
You heard it here first, may be as soon as this coming fall semester.
Well if I did that it would most likely cost the person that told me about it their job, now I dont know about you, but to me that does not seem right now does it? It will close as early as fall of 09' or as late as fall of 10' but believe me it is closing. Why don't you post an accurate, legitimate source?

Without a doubt. I do not know however if you believe that I was bashing U of I as I was not, I have some good friends from that program and it will be a real shame when it closes.thankfully, these future students should have no problem getting accepted into SIU's highly coveted academic program.

Dubya why did you get so quiet? After a few phone calls I guess you found out that I speak the truth?
Where was I beating my chest? I thought that it might be informative, as some on this board might be considering the flight program or know someone who is. Thought I might help them out and let them know what is up.SIUCAVflight, you have issues. Are you seriously trying to seek the credit for telling people on flight info about this first? You must not have much else going for yourself - time to get a life buddy.
Several employees might be loosing their jobs and you are worried about who is listening to you beat your chest.
Illinois' program is the oldest collegiate flight training program in the nation.
