CHANTILLY, Va. - Three passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday night after a United Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Dulles International Airport, the airline said.
United Express 7512 from Houston, Texas, had to make the emergency landing at Dulles with its nose gear still up, said United spokeswoman Megan McCarthy.

The flight was carrying four crew members and 56 passengers, who were evacuated from the aircraft on the runway.

Also Tuesday, a United Express flight from Chicago overran the runway at Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee, said Tony Yaron, the airport’s manager. No injuries were reported.

There were 44 passengers and three crew members aboard the CRJ 200 regional jet. Mosinee is about 130 miles north of Madison.

Three people aboard a United Express flight from Houston were taken to the hospital after the plane had to make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport on Tuesday night. Their injuries were minor, airport officials said.
The crew aboard the twin engine plane notified the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority about problems with its nose gear, which was not down, at about 7:15 p.m. Central time, authority spokesman Rob Yingling said.
The plane did a fly-by so that airport officials could confirm the problem. The plane landed 15 minutes later. The front of the plane came in contact with the ground upon landing, Yingling said.
Fire officials placed foam on the nose of the plane to prevent a fire. Passengers were taken off the plane via an emergency evacuation slide onto the runway.
The flight, United Express Flight 7512, had originally been scheduled to land at Dulles. The flight was delayed four hours because of weather. The emergency landing caused one of the airport's three runways to be temporarily closed.
The Federal Aviation Administration was still investigating the cause of the problem, Yingling said.
There were 56 passengers and four crew members on the flight, which is operated by Shuttle America, said United spokeswoman Megan McCarthy.
"We'll work with them and get a full investigation," McCarthy said.

wtf is the deal with the nose gear problems?

it's not the nose gear that has problems. This is the first case i've heard of this happening with the gear not extending.

the problem you're refering to are the tire failures, which is a design problem due to the dimensions of the tire.

Sweet, three abbreviations in one title. Must be a FI record.
