Just a FYI for anyone in a Jan new hire class, there is a huge live stock show in Denver in January and I've heard that most of the hotels near the TK are already at 100% occupancy for a 14 day period. So if you don't have a hotel yet, get on it quick.

with the passage of age 65 you might think of not going at all. With no aircraft coming, UAL's senority list isn't going to be moving for a long time.

Age 65 only affects 65 pilots the first 6 months of 2008. Been told to expect 250 pilots first 6 months and that they will evaluate hiringing for the rest of 08.

I'd rather be stuck at the bottom of United than the top 1/3rd of Comair.

Just got a room at the Radisson Plaza starting on 1/6, so evidently they still have rooms. Called the DoubleTree but they only had smoking rooms left.

so it's true that you have to get your own room during training at United... they all seem to have something to save the dough for your first year there besides the lousy salary.

of course I'd sign up today if I could though...

Congrats...Enjoy...

There is a flyer up for anyone interested at TK reference crashpad accomadations while in DEN, if anyone is interested I can get a number for you, I think it's $650 per month. It's better than $1100 per month at a hotel. Just a thought PM me if you want me to get the number for any of you. Congrats, my experience here has been great.
