Reminds me of how years ago in NYC, the parking or meter maids were outfitted in a brown car and uniform. They were harrassed and harmed, so the city issued them blue uniforms and a blue car with police-like lettering, so that they almost look like real officers.

Funny, it's just about the same caliber of occupation too.

This is from USA Today...

"A.J. Castilla, a screener at Boston's Logan Airport and a spokesman for a screeners union, is eager to get a badge. "It'll go a long way to enhance the respect of this workforce," he said

Hey AJ, if you think getting a badge is going to have the public and crews ENHANCE their respect for the TSA, you are seriously mentally ill. You want RESPECT? You get it by giving it!!!

You think some of these TSA have an attitude now, wait till they get the badges....standby for it...

The attire aims to convey an image of authority to passengers, who have harassed, pushed and in a few instances punched screeners. "Some of our officers aren't respected," TSA spokeswoman Ellen Howe said.

That's the understatement of the year. Here's a news flash...your screeners aren't respected because you make them enforce stupid policies and make no attempt at customer service. Chance the policy not the uniforms...

So there I was in Richmond, VA: Showing some female tsa agent my badge and she refuses to touch it and tells me to take it out. The thing was it was "out" or to be more specific not in any sort of plastic container. My badge is hanging from my lanyard on a spring loaded rope. So I pull the rope to its full length and hold the end of the rope at the lanyard so it doesn't retract and try to hand it to her. She refuses to take it even though with the 4 feet of slack she could do anything with it including sticking up her rear end.

I finally take the entire thing off unsnap it and give her only the ID card.

Anyone else have problems with Richmond.

Sounds like a decision made by an airline CEO.

Oh yes:
Messa Suks!

Badges now - guns to come

They now will have real look alike law enforcement badges and then the next step will be guns.
The FFDO'S and FAM's then might have to show there weapons and see who has the biggest gun.
then thye could make a movie "Shootout at the security check in", starring your local TSA Badge wearing, Gun Slingin officers versus Joe public, FFDO's and FAM's.
