So why does the video show an AWAC flight taking off in Us Airways colors, when the FA in question was working for Trans states on a United Express Flight.

Good catch, Dash; however, I would speculate that the majority of the public that saw that newscast didn't know it was a US Airways Express flight, much less that it was operated by AWAC. I hate these inconsistancies as much as the next guy. Glad you couldn't make out the airline name in the video.

Because on average, the media doesn't care if they get their aviation footage correct.

This is how the video was probably shot and used by the media:

Junior cameraman: Boss, I shouldn't I tape a jet taking off ?

Boss: Yeah, sounds good to me.

Junior cameraman: Ok, great. But which one?

Boss: Ain't it one of them, regional jets ?

Junior cameraman: Oh, I guess so. Which one is that?

Boss: Them small ones, with them engines in the back.

Junior cameraman: [Goes out and records an MD80 taking off]

Boss: No, junior, them really small regional jets.

Junior cameraman: [Sees an AWAC CRJ in US Airways Express colors]

Junior cameraman: Jimbo, by golly, I'VE GOT ONE!

Boss: Good, shoot it, and roll it.

Nevermind taping the wrong airline when you're showing a drunk flight attendant case. Can't the airline sue for libel?

If memory serves correct the only time you can nail the news media for libel is if the libel is intentional and 'there was no malice'.

Good catch??? GEEZ. Is this the first time you all have turned on the news? How about the Expressjet plane taxiing by? Or the tower... they zoomed on the tower? Were controllers drunk??!?!?!

Here's the text for you:

Drunken flight attendant?

By Rob Richardson, NBC12 News

A flight attendant was pulled off a flight at Richmond International Airport Thursday morning after officials noticed the smell of alcohol on her breath. This was a Trans State Airline flying for United Express. It was a 6 a.m. flight to Chicago that was at first delayed, then cancelled.

A Richmond airport spokesman says the flight 8043 returned to the terminal because of the weather delay. During that delay, a flight attendant fell and was injured. Airport officials smelled the odor of alcohol and found a container of alcohol and determined that she’d been drinking.

Sources close to the investigation dispute some of those facts, saying the plane returned to the terminal because the flight attendant was tipsy, not because of weather.

Back at the terminal, flight attendant Janet Dussor talked with the crew and was arrested by airport police. She’s been charged with public intoxication. After being delayed for several hours, the flight to Chicago was cancelled. Airline officials cited weather delays.

Sources say that flight attendant, Dussor, did have a container of alcohol when she was arrested Thursday morning. Sources say she also had a prescription for oxycodin, apparently for a toothache problem she’d been having. Once authorities determined she was sober enough this afternoon, she was released from the Henrico County Jail.

She is one of those really nice granny type FA's! I'm in shock!!

Kinda surprised it took this long for this story to be on here.

Wonder if the Teamsters will get her job back? or at least a resignation?

Sad story.......

Why should the Teamsters lift a finger to help this person?

(If its true, which it sounds like it is) she was drunk, with alcohol on board nonetheless, so much that she fell and hurt herself. Unions are there to protect employees from unfair treatment from the company, not cut the rope when people hang themselves.

Again, if this is all a big misunderstanding, then fight like there is no tomorrow. However, when someone has to be released from police custody in the afternoon for being intoxicated, its hard to think otherwise...

Sad, hopefully the Co. doesn't go after the pilots. Seems like they look for any reason.

They wouldn't win on that one if they went after the rest of the crew........doesn't mean they won't try....this IS Hulas remember.........
