help.

i just got my commercial and was out logging some time i wanted to fly through a class b airspace. i called approach and they said to squak altitude, so i did. i was at 7500 ft so i put 7500 in the transponder because that was my altitude. they gave me a phone number, i got nothing but abuse when i called. i have to see the faa now.

lol

I know this is a joke, but I do have one where the truth is stranger than fiction.

Couple of years ago (pre-9/11), was at Fallon working with an air wing.
Marine takes off from Fallon in an FA-18C (single seat).
Said A/C never leaves Fallon SUAS
Coming home, A/C was told to squawk 4500 (or something like that)
Pilot fat-fingers the wrong code
When he landed, was met by all the appropriate flashing lights and got to sit at the end of the runway for 30 minutes or so until security decides that he is not a threat to himself.

I guess you had to be there, but I thought it was pretty funny that they thought he would hijack himself. (Security really can't treat it any other way, but it is still fun to laugh at the pilot's misfortune. As I recall, clearer heads prevailed before it went past the air wing commander and some ridiculing at the club.)

Pugsley

PS Airchicaga, nice avatar! Is that someone you know?

"Cessna 172RG say altitiude."
"Altittude"
"Cessna 172RG, I mean say your altitude!"
"Your altitude..."
"OK Cessna 172RG, I need you to tell me how high you are."
" I havn't done any since morning."
"AAARRRGHHH!, Remain clear of class delta, clear into bravo. Squawk ...oh never mind"

If you're for real, I would recommend filing a NASA report and getting in touch with AOPA Legal. Then track down your previous CFIs and demand your money back.

We're all breathless with anticipation...

TAB flamebait trolling and/or a TAB 1900 hijacking??

this wouldn't happen to be TabExpress F/O, or Topgun-MAV would it?
See? I told you that/those twerp(s) would be back.

Transponder operation is taught in Pre-Solo 101. Some instructor dropped the ball somewhere. I will pick it up. Here's a link to basic transponder operation.

Rudy,

If you really did what you say, save us taxpayers some money:

Write "REVOKED" across your license and mail it to the Airman's Branch at the FAA in Oklahoma City.

That is what will happen anyway, if it doesn't, that on your record makes you unhirable just about anywhere (unless your dad owns an airplane).

we had a problem with the transponder on a plane we were flying, and the ATC guy says check the Oscar November switch. Huh? Is it on?? Oh, yeah, it is, has been must be you guys. It was.

Oh, and I can harley wait to fear his wrath.

Hey, can you use 100LL in lawnmowers? Our hangar is nearing finishing, the house will be done, and I have to get a lawnmower. I'm thinking of using used 100LL for the lawnmower.

some day this will happen to you...
He's right, you know. Just the other day, the guy in Center told me to "say Mach number," and I did, and he got really mad.

(Is this guy planehpn with a different handle? Actually, you know, it sounds a little like pjjim.)

Davidson?

Are you trying to turn this into a motorcycle thread?

;)

Every single one of us who has looked at this thread AFTER we read the first post, me included, is a sucker. Those that have responded to the OBVIOUS flame bait, are .... hmmm, gotta make up a word here.... double suckers. I guess since I'm typing on this thread, I have to include myself now. Boy, are we a sad lot.

Might as well, we've already discussed BBQ and grillin. Still waiting for the answer on 100LL in the lawnmower, though.

To clarify an earlier post...

bar·be·cue
Pronunciation: 'bär-bi-"kyü
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): -cued; -cu·ing
1 : to roast or broil on a rack over hot coals or on a revolving spit before or over a source of heat
2 : to cook in a highly seasoned vinegar sauce

grill
Pronunciation: 'gril
Function: transitive verb
1 : to broil on a grill; also : to fry or toast on a griddle

So that's the difference. One is roasting, and the other is broiling. Makes perfect sense.

BTW!!!
I was at ABI about 2 weeks ago, and theres a steak place that has the ABSOLUTE BEST steaks. Don't remember the name, but it was flavorful, full of mesquite smoke, done to perfection.

Or we relish irony and sarcasm.

There's no way to be sure.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Relish........

I tried that once. It seemed to work alright. It was a push mower if that makes any difference.

fear the wrath.... .....

Don't make fun of me

I WILL have the last laugh

oh.. 100LL is potent stuff, so before you use it in your lawnmower mix it 50/50 with water. i don't want you to hurt your self

Oh no...he's gonna bring back all the D A M N polls...we all better run for cover...:D

So... this wrath that I should fear is immediately manifested in an attempt to make me put water in a mower's gas tank?

Vicious, really vicious.
